Netflix’s Trainwreck series, which took the platform by storm this summer, is said to be returning for a second run.
The documentary franchise delivered hour-long specials on everything from the Astroworld tragedy to the controversy behind American Apparel.
The most talked-about instalment in the series was Poop Cruise, which focused on a doomed 2013 Carnival Triumph luxury cruise.
The two-day trip descended into chaos when the toilets clapped out in the middle of the sea, leaving the 4,000-odd passengers to contend with bogs overflowing raw sewage.
The so-called Poop Cruise was not a triumph for Carnival, but the documentary did big numbers for Netflix. Debuting in June, its first week on the platform saw 21.1million viewers tune in. The documentary special was in the streamer’s top 10 in 86 countries.

The other seven documentaries in the Trainwreck series also did well for Netflix, with The Cult of American Apparel raking in the second-most millions in its first week.

7.8million subscribers watched the look inside the all-American noughties image, which painted a picture of a breakneck and sometimes toxic workplace culture, under the leadership of CEO Dov Charney.
Deadline has now reported that the Trainwreck series will be back for a second season, with Don’t F**k with Cats producer Raw Television once again spearheading the episodes.
Netflix and Raw Television are not believed to have decided what the topics will be for the second series of the show, but reported the series will once again feature topics from music, politics and pop culture, with their now-signature ‘chaotic moments’.
Ahead of the release of Poop Cruise this summer, a passenger on the infamous Poop Cruise told Metro about the vile experience when he stepped aboard with his partner and her family.
‘I don’t think any of us were prepared for what was in store,’ unlucky cruise-goer Devin Marble said. ‘The first thought is “oh these poor people”…but we were all in the same boat.’

Passengers were told to do their business in red plastic biohazard bags, which they were then asked to leave outside their rooms to be collected by (unlucky) crew members.
‘I think you have to consider how small the trash cans on board are at that time. I’m going to break that thing. I didn’t know how these were going to work practically, and I hope I don’t have to do this,’ was his first reaction.
Devin described days spent searching for a functioning toilet on the cruise. When the ship tilted, the water in some toilets enabled them to flush.
Of the smell on board, Devin said: ‘Imagine going to a portable toilet in the middle of summer and someone turns the heating on and forgets to spray some Febreze – that’s what it smelled like on board. Just stagnant air.’
Trainwreck: Poop Cruise is streaming on Netflix.
