WWE fans were terrified for Chad Gable’s life after he took a brutal move during Monday Night Raw.
The opening match on last night’s Netflix live stream saw the former Olympic wrestler take on Dragon Lee and Penta in a Money In The Bank qualifier, with viewers praising the pacy and energetic bout.
However, there was a scary moment when Penta hoisted both of his opponents up with Lee in a Gory Special position, and Gable getting dropped in what appeared to be a Package Piledriver.
It didn’t quite go to plan, and the American Alpha leader got spiked on his head in a painful looking mistake.
Fans were shocked by the gruesome moment, with plenty of people wondering how Gable survived such a nasty drop.

‘Chad Gable is lucky he isn’t dead twice now. Dude has taken a couple really ugly looking bumps,’ said @BCox5503, with @kaledoesit writing: ‘Bruh how is Chad Gable alive after that bump?’

‘So Chad Gable almost died right there. Holy s**t what was Penta thinking,’ asked @ChrisRobinsonNJ, while @Pjefe4 added: ‘I thought Chad Gable just died omg 😬’
And @KevinLacy22 tweeted: ‘Chad Gable is soooooo lucky that he’s still able to walk. That was a horrifying mishap in the ring. No idea how he got up and was seemingly fine. #WWERAW’
Other fans described Gable as a ‘very lucky man’, and many more were similarly shocked he walked away from the match relatively unscathed.
‘How is Chad Gable not dead? They might have gotten really lucky there,’ pointed out @Aschallenberger, with @sports_fan_2007 admitting: ‘Don’t know how Chad Gable is still alive after that move.’
Who has qualified for WWE Money In The Bank 2025 so far?
- Men’s Money In The Bank competitors: Seth Rollins, Penta, LA Knight and Solo Sikoa
- Women’s Money In The Bank competitors: Alexa Bliss, Roxanne Perez, Rhea Ripley and Giulia
In the end, Penta picked up the win to advance to Money In The Bank, as the night went from bad to worse for Gable.
He was cost the match as AAA Lucha Libre star Vikingo got a measure of revenge for a cheap shot moments earlier, busting open his rival ahead of their ‘dream match’ at Worlds Collide on June 7.
It’s not the only brutal moment fans have witnessed this month, after poor Zoey Stark suffered a devastating injury early on in her own Money In The Bank qualifier against Kairi Sane and winner Rhea Ripley last week.

The severity of the injury is set to be confirmed, but Stark has since thanked everyone for their support.
‘Wow the love and support means more to me than you’ll ever know! What hurts more than my knee is knowing I wont be able to perform for all of you for a while,’ she wrote on X.
‘I LOVE what I do and I’m blessed to do this. As the saying goes, the comeback is greater than the setback. Love you guys.’

Meanwhile, in the main event of this week’s Raw, another Triple Threat match was held to determine the next MITB competitor.
Thanks to his allies Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed – plus a botched interference from Dominik Mysterio – Seth Rollins beat Sami Zayn and Finn Balor.
Jey Uso rushed out to save Zayn after the bell, with CM Punk outsmarting everyone to attack Rollins from behind and stand tall.
