New Teaser for Killer Tomatoes Sequel Starring Anchorman's David Koechner

The first teaser trailer for “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence” has finally been revealed, offering fans a wild first look at the next chapter in the cult comedy franchise. Premiering during a packed panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the clip introduces audiences to a new twist on tomato terror that blends artificial intelligence with genetically engineered food.

At the center of the teaser is Kate Patel, a teenage tech prodigy and CEO of biotech giant VegIntel. Patel is the inventor of MyTomato, a smart, modified tomato designed to solve humanity’s biggest challenges—especially the ones A.I. can’t. But when technology overreaches and nature pushes back, the stage is set for a juicy rebellion that’s as ridiculous as it is timely.

“Organic Intelligence” marks the fifth film in the 47-year-old “Killer Tomatoes” franchise, one that has embraced absurdist satire since its low-budget debut in 1978. The new installment promises to honor that legacy while giving it a tech-savvy upgrade.

David Koechner And Catherine Corcoran Lead A Cast Of Cult Comedy Favorites

According to Deadline, “Organic Intelligence” brings together an all-star ensemble led by David Koechner (“Anchorman,” “The Office”) and Catherine Corcoran (“Terrifier,” “Return to Nuke ’Em High”). Corcoran plays a key role in the genetically-charged storyline, with Koechner’s character reportedly caught between biotech bureaucracy and veggie vengeance.

Also starring are John Astin (“The Addams Family”) returning as the original mad scientist Professor Gangreen, Dan Bakkedahl (“Veep”), Daniel Roebuck (“The Munsters”), Paul Bates (“Coming to America”), Vernee Watson (“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”), Eric Roberts (“Runaway Train”), Myrna Velasco, Noor Razooky, Zachary Roozen, and Joshua Poon.

A Legacy Of Laughs That Helped Launch George Clooney’s Career

The original “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes” was made for just $100,000 and co-created by Costa Dillion, J. Stephen Peace, and John DeBello. The film’s unexpected popularity spawned three sequels and a Fox Kids animated series in the early 1990s. Notably, 1988’s “Return of the Killer Tomatoes!” helped launch the career of George Clooney, who starred in one of his earliest on-screen roles.

“Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence” will be released theatrically by Anchor Bay Entertainment, which has recently ramped up its focus on bold, genre-driven storytelling. Filming took place in Los Angeles, Long Beach, and San Diego, with principal photography completed earlier this year. A full trailer and additional promotional content are expected to drop later this fall.

For longtime fans and new viewers alike, this modern spin on one of cinema’s most enduringly ridiculous franchises promises high-stakes satire, tech-fueled terror, and a healthy serving of nostalgia. A a full trailer and additional content expected later this fall.
