The season begins in Wyoming, where Curtis is taking on an 1890s home that is the victim of a bad flip. She bought the house sight unseen, but she believes there’s a gem underneath the cheap modern upgrades. Once she rips out the features from the modern flip, she discovers original floors and plaster walls. Meanwhile, she manages to put a breathtaking twist on the home’s hideous exterior.

Back in November 2024, Curtis teased the Wyoming renovation in an <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DCp2o71S8NJ/?hl=en” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram post.

“Have you ever been looking at house listings and see this flipped crap & then notice year built : 1895. Well, on one particular day, I had enough,” she wrote. “My revenge on this terrible flipper ? I bought the house and meticulously UNFLIPPED IT. I would love to be a fly in the room when they watch these episodes.”

While Curtis is hard at work in Wyoming, she gets an urgent call that forces her to return to her home turf of Detroit. Squatters are living in a 1928 home she’s purchased, forcing her to undertake a massive cleanup of the disgusting property. But beneath the trash are charming original details, including subway tile in the bathroom, a built-in telephone stand, and a laundry chute.

Curtis’ HGTV return comes several years after she last appeared on the network. Rehab Addict aired from 2010 to 2018. She then stepped away from TV for several years before briefly returning with Rehab Addict Rescue in 2021 and Rehab Addict Lake House in 2022.

In a February 2025 <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DGbJ0BzSu9L/?hl=en” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram post, Curtis teased her new show, saying that she wanted to show people that it was possible to renovate old homes while preserving their unique architectural details and features.

“My soul is crushed when I see these ‘restored’ houses hit the market,” she wrote. “I’m not coming back to TV for the money, fame, or fancy wardrobe —-it’s to show by example.”

Her fans couldn’t be more excited to see her work her magic on more dilapidated older homes.

“I’m so excited. Nicole is so genuine and got me hooked in rehab shows,” one person commented on Instagram.
