Kidman, who attended this year’s iconic fashion event solo, debuted a super-short hairstyle that exuded fresh, modern vibes. The two-tone pixie cut features a side-swept fringe, elegantly revealing her statement earrings on the opposite side.
The actress’ hairstylist, Adir Abergel, revealed the inspiration behind Kidman’s new look. In an Instagram post, he explained:

Kidman’s dramatic hair transformation complemented her Met Gala attire. For this year’s event, the “Big Little Lies” actress and her stylist, Jason Bolden, opted for a Balenciaga Couture gown.
Speaking with Vogue, Kidman revealed she immediately fell in love with the classic dress, which was originally designed in 1952. Demna, who also dressed the actress at last year’s Met Gala, modernized the black strapless ensemble to match the theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
Kidman wore a corset gown crafted from silk organza, complete with multiple layers of petticoats for added volume and drama. The dress was cinched with silk satin bow belts at the waist and hips, emphasizing her silhouette. The actress completed the look with black spandex jersey gloves, and a pair of Raven pumps in black crepe satin.
Kidman gushed about the dress:
When I spoke to Anna [Wintour], she shared with me that the red carpet theme was ‘Tailored For You,’ and this dress embodies that. From the hips, to the bows around the waist, to the corset, Demna and his team have this dress tailored to perfection. The fabric and the tulle is divine.
