Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have barely been out of the headlines since it was announced they are to divorce after nearly 20 years of marriage. Their parenting plan – with Kidman seeking to be the ‘primary residential parent’ for their daughters Sunday Rose, 17 and Faith Margaret, 14 – was also the subject of speculation back in September. Reports suggested special occasions, such as Thanksgiving, Father’s Day and Easter, would be carefully divided. But what about the forthcoming festive season? (Picture: Getty)
Well, reports have now suggested that while they might be taking it in turns to spend notable days with their daughters, the Babygirl actor is considering reuniting with Urban for Christmas Day – for the sake of their children. A source told the National Enquirer that Kidman would set aside her ‘big feelings’ in a bid to create ‘happy moments’ as a family, and that Urban would be a part of that over the forthcoming holidays. Speaking to the National Enquirer, a source said: ‘As much as she’d love to just take the girls home to Australia, she’s saying she’s willing to spend the majority of the holidays in Nashville to accommodate Keith.’ They added that Kidman would not want to ‘alienate’ Urban from their children, saying: ‘They’ve been pretty well-glued to her side since this all started, and they aren’t going to want to be apart from her for the holidays, so her plan is to spend time as a family with Keith.’ (Picture: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic)

An insider also revealed to Closer Magazine that the actress had ‘mixed emotions about spending time under the same roof as Keith again’ but added: ‘The girls have missed their dad terribly, and even though they’ve been trying to stay strong, Nicole knows what they really want is some normal family time and she’s vowed to do whatever it takes to give that to them.’ Kidman has previously taken the family to Sydney for the festive season, saying of Christmas: ‘I’ll spend it with my family. I’m not interested in material things, I want good food, good family and good health.’ (Picture: Christopher Polk/GG2025/Penske Media via Getty Images)

News of the pair’s marriage split was first reported in September by TMZ, with reports saying at the time the couple had been living apart since the beginning of summer. While the rumour mill continues to churn over the couple’s marriage, Urban has made his return to social media for the first time since news of their split was made public. The 58-year-old singer shared a clip from new reality TV series The Road, in which aspiring country singers perform as opening acts for Urban at venues across the US in a bid to be crowned the next big music superstar. The instagram post sees Urban and show host Blake Shelton take a nostalgic look back at some of the looks they’ve had over the years. ‘You and I have both been in Nashville since the ‘90s and we went through some awkward phases,’ Shelton says at one point, before revealing a photo of Urban sporting long blond hair. The first episode of the series – which is being aired in the US on CBS and Paramount+ – sees the singer open up about life on the road in a candid, pre-recorded interview. ‘It’s a calling, and you’re going to do it or you’re not going to make it,’ he explained. ‘When you wake up on a tour bus at 3:30 in the morning and you’re sick as a dog, you’re in the middle of nowhere and you’ve got to play your fifth show later that night, and you haven’t slept, and you miss your friends, and you’re missing your family, and you’re completely lonely and miserable and sick — and you say to yourself, “Why am I doing this?”, the only answer can be, “Because this is what I’m born to do”.’ (Picture: Jason Kempin/Getty Images)
