Former One Direction member Niall Horan is signaling a return to music. On April 23, the singer-songwriter took to Instagram to share a video update with fans and tease new material, following the fifth-anniversary re-release of his 2020 album âHeartbreak Weatherâ.
âLong time no see. Hope you havenât forgotten about me, Lovers! I wanted to say a massive thank you for everything youâve done around the 5th anniversary re-release of Heartbreak Weather. The album needed its day in the sun again so we had to give it to it. Hereâs a little bit of âDressâ off the re-release,â Horan captioned the post.
Support poured in from fans and followers in the comments section. YouTube Musicâs official account responded, âFEELS SO GOOD TO HEAR YOUR VOICE AGAIN.â Another fan commented, âForget you? Are you kidding me? Love you so much Niall,â while others shared excitement with messages like âniall we missed u.â
The re-release featured two previously unreleased tracks, including âDress,â offering fans a fresh take on an album originally launched during the pandemic. Horan acknowledged the positive response and the albumâs significance in his career.
From âThe Showâ to the Studio: Horan Eyes Whatâs Next
In June 2023, Horan released his third solo album, âThe Showâ, which debuted at No. 1 in multiple countries and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It featured singles like âHeavenâ and âMeltdown,â and was followed by a deluxe edition titled âThe Show: The Encoreâ. His largest solo tour to date, âThe Show: Live on Tourâ, concluded in October 2024, with live albums from the tour released that same month.
Reportedly, at the final stop of his tour, Horan addressed fans, saying, â…I’m gonna disappear for a while. I’m gonna make you guys a brand new album and I will be back, I promise.â The emotional announcement came around the same time as the passing of his former bandmate Liam Payne, which left fans concerned and emotional. Horan, along with the rest of One Direction, attended Payneâs funeralâa moment of reflection for many fans and the artist alike.
Horan Lives Quietly While Preparing for the Future
After his tour, Horan took a break from the spotlight. Reports revealed that he purchased a £10 million home in West London, where he resides with girlfriend Amelia Woolley and their dog. According to The Mirror, the residence is described as a luxury family property in a private neighborhood.
A source told The Sun, âTheyâve been spotted a few times in the neighborhood now but people leave Niall alone and let him just get on with his day⦠Itâs lovely that someone as well known as Niall can live the quiet life heâs always wanted.â
