It is all about giving fans extra layers of the show. According to Variety, “Episodes will be available to watch on YouTube” and “various podcast platforms” like Spotify, Apple Podcast, SiriusXM, iHeart Radio, TuneIn, Amazon Music and Pandora. And if you’re a Disney+ or Hulu subscriber? Good news: you can catch the video podcast there too.

“We built this slate of companion video podcasts to give our fans even more ways to connect more deeply with the shows they love.” Shannon Ryan (Disney Entertainment Television Marketing President) told Variety. “One of the great things is that these podcasts can do a bit of double duty for us. They serve as awareness drivers and marketing materials for our shows… but they also serve as bonus content for our fans and engagement drivers for our platforms.” Translation: more content for us, more hype for them. Win-win.

Other Shows Joining the Podcast Party

The good news? “Only Murders in the Building” isn’t going solo. “Shows like “Only Murders,” “Dancing With the Stars,” “Paradise,” “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” “Murdaugh: Death in the Family,” “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” “Tell Me Lies” and more” are also set to get companion video podcasts (Variety). Basically, Disney is making sure there’s something for everyone… whether you’re into dance-offs, murder mysteries, or demigods.

These podcasts aren’t just more content. They’re designed to give fans deeper access to the stories and people behind the shows. Think behind-the-scenes gossip, interviews, and bonus tidbits you wouldn’t get just by watching the episodes. It seems like a clever way to keep fans hooked and give us something to obsess over between episodes.

Podcasts as the New Fan Zone

With companion podcasts, networks are leveling up fan engagement. By offering content across multiple platforms, shows aren’t just watched… they’re experienced, especially one like “Only Murders in the Building.” From cast interviews to inside jokes you’ll want to see it all. These podcasts are a new playground for fans to geek out in ways we didn’t even realize we wanted.
