Hulu now offers several original shows for viewers to choose from. However, “Only Murders In The Building” is among the most popular, and the streamer has just revealed when season 5 will premiere. Spoiler alert: fans won’t have to wait long until Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin are back to solving murders.
Naturally, season five of “Only Murders In The Building” will also feature a host of exciting guests, as well as many of the characters fans have grown to love over the years.
Season 5 of Only Murders In The Building Begins In September
When it comes to Hulu original shows, “Only Murders In The Building” is one of the biggest standouts. Not only has it been nominated for several awards, but it draws in large viewership for the streamer. According to Deadline, Hulu will release the first three episodes on September 9.
Following the three-episode premiere, new offerings will debut on the platform weekly. The description of the season states, “After their beloved doorman, Lester (Teddy Coluca), dies under suspicious circumstances, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) refuse to believe it was an accident.”
It continues, “Their investigation plunges them into the shadowy corners of New York and beyond â where the trio uncovers a dangerous web of secrets connecting powerful billionaires, old-school mobsters, and the mysterious residents of the Arconia.”
Finally, “The trio discovers a deeper divide between their storied city they thought they knew and the new New York evolving around them â one where the old mob fights to hold on as newer, even more dangerous players emerge.”
The rest of the cast will include Michael Cyril Creighton, Meryl Streep, DaâVine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Bobby Cannavale, Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein, Dianne Wiest, and Jermaine Fowler.
The Show Received Several Emmy Nominations
The Emmy Academy recently announced the 2025 nominations, and “Only Murders In The Building” received several nominations in various categories. Specifically, the show walked away with seven nominations. First, Martin Short received a nomination for Lead Actor In a Comedy series for his role as Oliver Putnam.Â
The Hulu original show also received recognition for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Production Design for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Contemporary Makeup, Sound Mixing, and Stunt Coordination for Comedy Programming.
In total, the show has received 49 Emmy nominations since its premiere in 2021.
