Overwatch 2 added to Xbox Game Pass with lots of exclusive perks

D.Va is out with a new, free skin for Xbox Game Pass fans (Blizzard Entertainment)

If you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription, Overwatch 2 has become a lot more enticing, thanks to six free skins, Mythic Prisms, and a seasonal XP boost.

Overwatch 2 is being added to the catalogue of titles available to Xbox Game Pass members today, and not just to those who have the more expensive Ultimate subscription.

The inclusion will be unaffected by Microsoft’s decision to restructure the subscription tiers for Xbox Game Pass earlier this summer, when they announced they’d be adding a more expensive payment plan and removing day one exclusives from the cheaper tiers.

While Overwatch 2 is a free-to-play game, Microsoft is adding it to its subscription service with lots of exclusive skins, on top of 30 Mythic Prisms, access to older cosmetics, and a 10% XP boost.

The six free skins in question are Cardboard Reinhardt, Turtleship D.Va, Cyberdragon Hanzo, Street Runner Genji, Bee Mercy, and Cleric Lifeweaver.

You’ll also receive a one-time bonus of 30 Mythic Prisms, to use to buy other cosmetics and upgrades, and a 10% seasonal XP boost, which stacks each season the Game Pass membership is active.

‘These rewards will remain active as long as you keep your accounts linked and maintain a subscription to one of the eligible Xbox Game Pass account tiers,’ says Blizzard.

How to connect Battle.net account to Xbox Game Pass

Navigate to your Battle.net Account Connections page
Next to Xbox Network, make sure the Xbox Account with your eligible Game Pass subscription is listed.

If the correct account is linked, you are good to go!

If no account is listed, click the +Connect button to initiate the linking process

Ensure you are linking the correct account; account links have cooldowns limiting how often they can be changed. Customer Support cannot assist with bypassing cooldowns on linking accounts.

If the wrong Xbox Account is listed and it has been more than 1-year since the accounts were linked:

Click Disconnect
Click +Connect to initiate the linking process for the correct Xbox Account

If the wrong Xbox Account is listed and the link cooldown has not yet expired, you will need to use a new or different Battle.net Account to link to your Xbox Account.

Another perk is that Game Pass subscribers gain access to select shop cosmetics from the previous three seasons.

The rewards become available if you link your Battle.net account to your Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass, or PC Game Pass user, by November 11.

Although Blizzard doesn’t mention it, the news comes on the very same day that Overwatch 2 starts its collaboration with World Of Warcraft.

The partnership means that there will be new cosmetics from the Warcraft world added to the game as well, although they’re not bonuses for Game Pass subscribers.
