Ozzy Osbourne’s official cause of death has been confirmed as ‘acute myocardial infarction’, according to new reports.
The Black Sabbath star died at the age of 76 on July 22 after years of health issues, including Parkinson’s.
His death certificate listed his cause of death as ‘acute myocardial infarction’ and ‘out of hospital cardiac arrest’, according to The Sun.
An acute myocardial infarction is more widely known as a heart attack, where the blood flow to the heart stops suddenly, usually blocked by a clot.
Just weeks before, he had played his final gig at his hometown of Birmingham to crowds of adoring fans.
Osbourne’s body returned to the city one last time on Wednesday last week for a procession through the streets, finishing at Black Sabbath Bridge.

He was then buried by the lake in the grounds of his Buckinghamshire mansion following a private church service.
The family initially posted a statement announcing his death on social media, writing: ‘It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
‘He was with his family and surrounded by love.’
His daughter Kelly shared a tribute to her ‘best friend’ before publishing a response to the overwhelming fan support.
‘I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough…but from the bottom of my heart thank you.
‘The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life.

‘Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain,’ she penned in an emotional post on her Instagram story.
She added that she wouldn’t be ok for some time, but felt supported by the knowledge that so many people are grieving with her.
‘Grief is a strange thing – it sneaks up on you in waves- I will not be ok for a while – but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference.
‘I am holding tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.
‘Thank you for being there. I love you all so much – Kelly. #BirminghamForever #Ozzy Forever.’
Osbourne’s wife Sharon, 72, wept as she looked over the flowers left for her husband, who she had primarily been a carer for over the last two decades.

The Paranoid icon was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003 and suffered a near-fatal quad bike accident that same year.
In 2019, he suffered a fall in his LA home, which aggravated his quad bike injuries, dislodging metal rods in his back, neck and shoulders.
According to Sharon, after Osbourne’s bike accident, he stopped breathing and his heart stopped beating, as he was placed in a coma for days.
He also revealed his blood pressure was being taken 15 times a day after blood clot issues in his legs.
In 2020, he said he’d been ‘laid up for a year’ and had not been able to walk without support – or at all – ever since.
