Things got a bit emotional on BBC Radio 2 this weekend as Paddy McGuinness became choked up thanks to a sweet listener interaction.
The TV favourite, 51, has had a rather gruelling schedule lately, as he’s been training for his Children in Need challenge, which will see Paddy cycle 300 miles on Monday.
While hosting his usual Radio 2 show, Paddy was given some much-needed words of encouragement from a caller named Emma.
After the listener, from Bedfordshire, had recited her motivational poem, Paddy admitted it had ‘got to [him]’ as he fought back tears.
Emma began: ‘Paddy, as you set off on patch, know we have you back. Hopefully, those meatpies have been avoided and you can stay on track.
‘Some might think 300 miles on a Chopper is a crazy plan. But if anyone can do it, we know you can.

‘We have loved your regular training updates – your sore bum, aching muscles, and various scrapes.
‘Ending up in a cow field running out of tea, ice baths, and a dodgy knee. Our Bolton boy with a heart of gold, good looking chap, if we may be so bold.’
Emma concluded lovingly: ‘So, Wrexham to Scotland, here you come; everyone will be beeping and cheering you on.
‘Keep on peddling, Paddy; if you can, enjoy the view and remember all those young lives that will be changed because of you.’
Paddy let out an emotional sigh, telling her: ‘Emma, thank you very much for that.
‘It got me a little bit, that. It is so beautiful.

‘Do you know what I love about that, Emma? The fact you were talking about things I had forgotten about myself.’
Emma’s reference to a Chopper is Paddy’s bike of choice for his charity ride, which is something he desperately wanted growing up.
The Farnworth-born star previously shared that, as a child, he was gifted a BMX 2000 as a present, and while it gave him plenty of food times, it wasn’t what he really wanted.
‘I remember thinking, “God, I’d give my right arm for that bike,” Paddy previously recalled, having borrowed one from a friend before swapping it for a Star Wars toy as a kid.
Decades later, the former Take Me Out host was able to buy his own, having found one on eBay during lockdown for £400.
Paddy’s love for his vintage bike is what inspired him to tackle the Children in Need challenge, which begins on November 11 and concludes four days later.

The comedian’s Radio 2 Ultra Endurance Cycle Challenge will hopefully raise thousands for charity, as he sets off at Wrexham Football Club before cycling through Flintshire, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, Westmorland, Cumbria, Dumfriesshire, and Lanarkshire.
On Friday, he’ll finish in Glasgow.
Surprisingly, Paddy hasn’t sought assistance from a personal trainer ahead of the mammoth task, but he has received plenty of tips and tricks from gold medallist Sir Chris Hoy.
The challenge will see Paddy ride a vibrant yellow Chopper with Pudsey Bear’s face printed onto the frame.
