Paloma Faith has announced she is pregnant with her third child.
The 44-year-old singer, who recently appeared on The Celebrity Traitors, announced the news when dropping an album on Instagram.
The two photos showed her wearing a baseball jersey and white polka dot skirt, with the top tucked into her bra to show her growing bump.
Captioning the post, she wrote: ‘Plot twist , mother is mothering (again)
#morethangeriatricpregnancy #oappregnancy #oapmilf #18weekspregnant.’
Paloma already shares two daughters, born in 2016 and 2021, with her ex-partner Leyman Lahcine.
However in 2023 she confirmed they’d split after a 10-year relationship.
She has not revealed who the father of her third child is, however earlier this year it was reported that she was dating Stevie Thomas, the director of a music venue in Birmingham after he joined her at a Brit Awards afterparty.
The singer, who has never revealed her children’s names publicly, has previously spoken about the ‘harrowing’ struggle to conceive.
Before welcoming her daughters, she faced six rounds of IVF treatment, during which she suffered an ectopic pregnancy and a devastating miscarriage, which occurred while she was on set filming the TV series Pennyworth.
‘When we first started trying, I had previously become pregnant quite easily and so I was concerned,’ she told Davina McCall on her Begin Again podcast.
‘It does irritate me that science, because it is mainly dominated by men, is that if it is a male fertility problem, which it was in our case, it is still the woman that has to endure the brunt of the stuff.
‘There has been no breakthrough. He was devastated the whole time and said, “If there’s something I can take, or I can do injections. Why does it have to fall on you?”.
She went on: ‘But it did, and it does. He was empathetic but I think that put a strain on our relationship in itself because his view was ‘You’re so hardworking, breadwinner and all I had to do was this and I can’t do it.’
‘It was difficult because I knew I could just conceive naturally and I think that put a strain on us because I’m not someone who buries my feelings. I just say, “This is frustrating”.’
However, while she wanted to undertake treatment again to have their second child, her partner was concerned their relationship might now survive.
‘The birth was not ideal and then when we came to lockdown the fertility clinic called me and said, “We’re still open, do you want to have another baby?”. I said to him, “I really want another baby, I’m not working as much. I’ve got more time to relax. Can I do it?”. He said, “I don’t think we’ll make it as a couple”.
‘I felt resentment, I just felt alone. There’s this mid-life thing and you’re looking at a perimenopause around the corner. It was the last chance saloon.
‘I just had it in my head; I need to give this child a sibling. I felt like a single parent even in a relationship.’
Speaking about the split from her ex, she also once said: ‘You either grow together, adapting to one another like expandable foam and filling the gaps where it’s empty – or one person grows and the other stays the same.
‘And I think for me, becoming a mother was such a massively life-changing experience that for the first time in my life, I needed more than nothing – and the expandable foam just wasn’t there.
‘Our relationship ended because we have those children. And I think that was worth it.’
