Pamela Anderson has revealed she narrowly avoided being attacked on a flight by a man who thought she was a member of the Dixie Chicks.
The 57-year-old actress was spotted by an angry man on a flight and he ‘tried to attack’ her before being handcuffed. But it turned out that he had mistaken her for a member of the 1960s girl group The Dixie Chicks.
‘Have you ever been mistaken for another actor in your career?’ host of the Happy Sad Confused podcast Josh Horowitz asked in Monday’s episode.
The Baywatch star explained: ‘This one time, I was on a flight and this guy came up to me and said, “Do you know what this country’s done for you?”
‘And I was like, “Oh, my God. What have I done?” And then I looked back at him and he’d [growl at me]. This stewardess had to handcuff him to the chair because he was trying to attack me.
‘It ended up, he thought I was a Dixie Chick. Remember that whole Dixie Chick thing? I almost got killed on a plane!’

The former Baywatch actress added that the whole incident left her ‘scared’ to fly afterward.
Pamela added, making light of the scary situation: ‘When you look back and he’s like [growling] at you…’
Josh chimed in: ‘That’s only the 400th weirdest thing that’s happened in your life, to be fair.’
‘That was minor!’ she agreed, adding: ‘I was scared to fly after that a little bit.’
The Last Showgirl star did not detail when the incident took place, but the group faced controversy when member Natalie Maines condemned then-President George W. Bush and the invasion of Iraq while performing at a concert in London in 2003.
Three years after making the comments, the Goodbye Earle hitmaker said that she ‘didn’t feel that way anymore’ but didn’t think that Bush was ‘owed any respect’ at all.

Pamela appeared on the podcast alongside The Last Showgirl director Gia Coppola, and was nominated for a Golden Globe for the role at this year’s awards.
However, she was pipped to the best performance by an actress award by Fernanda Torres in I’m Still Here.
This was the former Playboy model’s first ever Golden Globe nomination, having appeared in several iconic 90s and 00s TV shows and films such as Baywatch, Barb Wire, Scary Movie 3 and Stacked – cementing herself as a US cultural icon.

In recent years Pamela’s life story has taken centre stage through her Netflix documentary Pamela, a Love Story or Disney Plus’ controversial series Pam & Tommy.
Pamela explained how before this film opportunity came along she was trying to remember who ‘[she] was’.
‘I want to be defined by what I do not what has been done to me. I needed to remember who I was. As soon as I did that things just started percolating.’
