Pamela Anderson & Liam Neeson’s Hilarious ‘Naked Gun’ Trailer

It’s Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson like you’ve never seen them before!

“The Naked Gun” series of blockbusters that kept fans laughing in the 80’s and 90’s is coming back with a new sequel. And if the trailer that just dropped is any indication, it’s going to be a wild ride.

The reboot has all the hallmarks of the original movies- with sight gags, outrageous antics and plenty of winks at the audience.

The film, which drops August 1, is directed by Saturday Night Live’s Akiva Shaffer. And he has plenty to say, especially about Pamela Anderson’s comedy chops.

Shaffer told People that Anderson is “so funny and smart and kind. She’s my new favorite person. She’s gonna really surprise people with how hilarious she is.”

‘Naked Gun’ Reboot Leans Into Original Movie

The new “Naked Gun” stars Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin, Jr., the son of Leslie Nielsen’s original “Naked Gun” character, Frank Drebin. Neeson’s character is following in his father’s footsteps both professionally and, it seems, comedically.

The tagline in the movie gives a nod to Neeson’s famous action hero roles in the “Taken” series, stating, “Only one man has the particular set of skills … to lead Police Squad and save the world.”

The 73-year-old actor initially expressed reservations about trying his hand at such a broad comedy, telling People, “Whether I can carry it or not, I honestly don’t know.”

But Neeson had no such reservations about co-star Pamela Anderson.

Neeson told People, “With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with. I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with.”

Pamela Anderson Gives Liam Neeson a Glowing Review

The admiration, it seems, is mutual.

Pamela Anderson told People that Neeson was “the perfect gentleman” on set, saying he, “sincerely looked after me — wrapped his coat around me when I was cold.”

“He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him.”

The 57-year-old actress also makes it clear that Neeson needn’t worry about his comedy chops. “It was hard to keep a straight face in scenes together,” she said.

Original ‘Naked Gun’ Series Was Box Office Gold

The original “Naked Gun” movies started with 1988’s “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!” It was followed by 1991’s “The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear” and 1994’s “Naked Gun 33 1/3.” The three movies grossed more than $216 million according to Deadline.

In addition to Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson, the new movie stars “Cobra Kai’s” Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, professional wrestler Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, Eddie Yu and “Yellowstone’s” Danny Huston.
