It’s week six on The Great British Bake Off, and the pressure is mounting. In fact, it might all be getting a bit much for one of the contestants.
After Chocolate Week, it’s time to practice pastry this week on the beloved Channel 4 programme.
A famously fiddly and at times flimsy thing to work with, the pastry showstopper challenge was always going to be difficult.
And one baker who seems to be finding it particularly stressful is Nataliia, as she’s seen losing her cool in an exclusive clip shared by Metro.
On Tuesday night, Pastry Week will see the seven remaining bakers take on the immense challenges of making savoury plaits, as well as a gala pie for their showstopper.

In the short snippet from the episode, Nataliia looks close to dropping her bake on the floor with only minutes left of the final challenge, resulting in her dropping an expletive in a moment of panic.

Holding the base of her tart on a cooling rack in one hand and what looks like a chopping board in the other, the Ukrainian-born contestant momentarily loses her balance and nearly lets her creation slide to the floor.
The bubbly baker manages to steady herself just in time and looks overwhelmingly relieved.
After the 15-minute warning, Nataliia tells the camera she is ‘worried about everything’, adding: ‘I have no time’.
However, she isn’t the only one facing a last-minute struggle as the minutes trickle down.
Jasmine, Toby, and Aaron are up against the clock, expressing doubts over whether they’ll be finished.

When presenter Alison Hammond asks Toby if he thinks he’ll get it done in time, he responds with stress: ‘I have absolutely no idea at this stage.’
As Aaron takes his bake out of the oven, he exclaims: ‘I want longer, but I’m gonna risk it.’
We also catch a glimpse of a cheeky conversation between Alison and her co-host Noel Fielding.
While encouraging the contestants with their bakes, Noel says: ‘You can do a lot in 15 minutes.’
Alison agrees with a smirk and a knowing look, before gesturing to Noel to join her off-camera. The pair walk out of shot, giggling to each other and looking straight down the lens.

In week five, Iain’s white chocolate tart dramatically crumbled during Chocolate Week, leaving fans devastated.
On X, @napqueen3000 said: ‘Iain stop breaking your bakes! It’s stressing me out.’
@Laruahallissey agreed: ‘I think Bake Off is so nice and relaxing and then someone drops one of their bakes and I’m like…’.

At the end of week five, presenter Noel told viewers that in the following episode for Pastry Week, they would see the bakers work on a ‘perilous plait’ in the signature and a ‘picnic classic’ in the technical, before moving on to a ‘stunning sculpted showstopper’.
In the sneak peek of the next episode, Noel asked contestant Tom what he feared most in the world, to which he replied: ‘Structural pastry and Paul Hollywood’.
On the showstopper challenge, baker Toby added: ‘This feels like the most intense thing I’ve ever done in my life.’
The Great British Bake Off is available to stream on Channel 4, with new episodes airing on Tuesdays at 8pm.
