Patrick Kielty is ready to get his TV career back on track after his shock split from Cat Deeley, his wife of almost 13 years with whom he shares two children.
The Irish presenter and comic, 54, and the ITV host, 48, revealed in July that they had decided to call time on their union after more than a decade together.
In a joint statement, they said: ‘We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.
‘We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.’
Now, after Cat was spotted without her wedding ring earlier this week, Patrick’s immediate next steps have been revealed as he returns to TV following the events of the summer.
In September, he’ll continue his stint as host of The Late Late Show in Ireland, one of RTÉ’s most prominent talk shows, marking Patrick’s third year hosting.

The Late Late Show began all the way back in 1962, when it was originally hosted by legendary late Irish TV host Gay Byrne – he stayed in the role for 37 years.
With the show airing on Fridays at 9.30pm and running for 90 minutes, it’s just as well that Patrick reportedly moved back to his homeland to start work on the show.
He took over in 2023 after Ryan Tubridy left following 14 years in the main hosting role, at the same time it was announced that the running time of The Late Late Show had been cut from two hours to 90 minutes.

The new season will begin on September 12, with guests yet to be revealed, and is expected to run until next spring as it has done each year for more than a decade.
Despite its return in September being a big deal, it’s The Late Late Toy Show that’s the main event – it’s been an Irish Christmas tradition for decades.
While the Toy Show is hosted by the main presenter of the Late Late Show, it’s the kids who become the stars each year, with dozens of Irish school children displaying the best-selling toys each year.

The Toy Show was first broadcast in December 1974 and has been held ever since, even in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic (although there was no studio audience).
Patrick will be hosting his third Toy Show in December, with 2024’s most recent edition being watched in more than 130 countries around the world, including all 50 American states.
Cat and Patrick met on the BBC’s Fame Academy back in 2003, with the pair hosting the singer-songwriter competition that produced stars like Lemar and number one artist David Sneddon.
The couple share two children, nine-year-old Milo and seven-year-old James, and had been living out in Los Angeles until Cat returned to This Morning and Patrick took over The Late Late Show.
Watch The Late Late Show on RTÉ Player from September 12.
