In a video posted on 1587 Prime’s Instagram account, Mahomes and Kelce are seen grinning ear-to-ear as they sample perfectly cooked steaks, accompanied by a lineup of decadent butters: white truffle, chili, garlic, and a torch-fired hibiscus butter. Mahomes, clearly impressed, said, “From the first bite, I knew it would be good.” Kelce, ever the hype man, pointed at one of the condiments and told Mahomes, “You need to try some of that dog.”

Fans couldn’t get enough of the video, with one commenting, “You look like you are on the verge of doing a happy dance!!! Glad to see you enjoying yourself. Thanks for sharing.”

The duo also left their own marks in the comments section. Kelce wrote, “Man that food was better than I could have imagined!! KC get ready baby!!” while Mahomes dropped his signature clock emoji, writing, “Coming soon..!! ⏰.”

Former Chiefs lineman Mitchell Schwartz couldn’t resist poking fun at Mahomes’ well-known love for ketchup, joking, “Gotta get that ketchup butter recipe locked in.”

Although an official opening date hasn’t been announced, the NFL stars have hinted that 1587 Prime, located inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel, is close to welcoming its first diners.

1587 Prime Promises a High-End Experience

1587 Prime isn’t just a vanity project for Mahomes and Kelce—it’s a 10,000-square-foot fine dining concept that’s been carefully curated with their input. Noble 33 Director of Hospitality Sacha Tanha confirmed for that both players have been deeply involved in crafting the restaurant’s modern American cuisine.

“We recently had a food tasting with both of them where they got to try a lot of the dishes we want to put on the menu,” Tanha told KC’s Fox 4. “They gave us great feedback. It was very productive and effective. We took some of their advice and made tweaks to ensure everything meets their standards.”

The restaurant will have a bar with custom wine selections, multiple private dining rooms, and a world-class kitchen designed to create a luxurious yet still welcoming atmosphere. Tanha hinted that locals might even see Mahomes or Kelce dropping by for a meal once the doors open. “You might see Patrick and Travis one night having dinner, other teammates, coaches, and people who work at Arrowhead. That’s the heart and soul of this restaurant.”

Kelce nearly let the opening date slip during a recent episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “You already know, baby. Opening up… soon,” he teased. “We’re gonna get that thing up and running. Once it’s up and running, it’s gonna be a machine, serving Kansas City and all the Chiefs Kingdom and whoever else wants to come and enjoy a meal that me and Pat are giving to the city.”
