Patrick Mahomes Reveals Who Pushes Him to Be Better Every Day

Patrick Mahomes #15 of the Kansas City Chiefs celebrates after defeating the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime during Super Bowl LVIII

Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes has enjoyed a level of success that most of us can only dream of. Since he was drafted in 2017, the quarterback has led his team to three Super Bowl victories, won two MVP awards, and signed a $500 million contract — one of the largest in NFL history. He’s also signed numerous brand deals, most recently with Invisalign. But he says he wouldn’t have the confidence to achieve so much if it wasn’t for his wife, Brittany Mahomes.

Brittany Mahomes’ Influence Fuels Patrick Mahomes’ Drive

Mahomes’ confidence on the field is undeniable, but he credits Brittany for inspiring him to cultivate that same strength in every aspect of his life. In a recent interview, he opened up about how her unwavering self-assurance motivates him.

“I admire my wife Brittany’s confidence,” Mahomes told PEOPLE. “Whether it’s in business, or supporting our family, she always leads with strength and purpose. That kind of confidence is powerful; it pushes me to be better every day.”

From their high school days to navigating the spotlight of NFL stardom, Brittany’s support has been a constant.  Mahomes says it has helped him grow both personally and professionally. Her ability to tackle challenges with poise, whether in her own ventures or as a mother, sets a standard that Mahomes strives to match.

Building Confidence, On and Off the Field

For Mahomes, confidence isn’t a given. He says it’s a daily commitment. The Texas native views it as a skill honed through dedication and trust in those around him. His partnership with Invisalign, where he’s featured in a campaign promoting confidence, resonates deeply with this philosophy.

“Confidence isn’t a hand out, you’ve got to build it,” he says in the new Invisalign commercial.

The ad included young athletes, and allowed Mahomes to share his journey with the next generation. He emphasized the importance of persistence, advising aspiring athletes to “keep showing up every day, keep learning and keep growing.”

Mahomes also noted that feeling good about oneself, and sporting a great smile, adds a boost. Off the field, he finds his confidence peaks when surrounded by family and close friends. Their longstanding support grounds him in his roots.

“Confidence isn’t something that you just wake up with one day. It’s about staying committed to your goals, trusting yourself and the people around you and putting your best foot forward with every opportunity you get,” the 29-year-old explained.

Patrick Mahomes Tells Young Athletes to Carve Their Own Path

Mahomes’ role in the Invisalign campaign wasn’t just about promoting a product. It was also a chance to connect with young fans who see him as a role model. Filming alongside up-and-coming athletes was a highlight for the quarterback, who values inspiring others as much as he values his own growth.

“It’s always great to connect with the next generation and help inspire them to keep pushing forward. I think it’s important to pass that message on to young athletes who are working hard to find their own confidence and voice,” explained the father of three.

Mahomes encourages young people to carve their own paths without comparing themselves to others, stressing the importance of enjoying the journey. His advice is to “focus on getting better, believe in yourself and most importantly, have fun.”
