Our favorite group of Upper East Siders – and Lonely Boy – have finally returned to Netflix and we’ve truly missed them.
Gossip Girl ran for six seasons between 2007 and 2012, introducing us to the ‘scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite’, with Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford leading the star-studded cast.
Viewers were left raging when the iconic teen drama was removed from the US version of the streaming platform in 2021, and found a home on HBO Max instead.
Although the hit series never left the UK service, it is now back on the US version as of today, meaning everyone can now catch up with Blair Waldorf and co.
Netflix confirmed the news on the official Twitter account earlier this month, penning: ‘Spotted: Gossip Girl Seasons 1-6 coming to Netflix in the US on October 29.’
Gossip Girl was based on the book series Cecily von Ziegesar and adapted by the creators of the OC, giving fans an insight into the lives of ridiculously wealthy, popular high-schoolers at Constance Billard St Jude’s.

Queen bee Blair Waldorf (Leighton) ruled the school alongside It Girl frenemy Serena van der Woodsen (Blake), while looking down on Brooklyn-native Dan Humphrey, aka ‘Lonely Boy’, who was massively in love with her best friend.
Their exploits were followed by a mysterious blogger known only as ‘Gossip Girl’ – narrated by Kristen Bell – with ‘her’ pinging alerts teasing that bombshells were on the way.
Jessica Szhor, Kelly Rutherford, Matthew Settle and Taylor Momsen also made up the cast, while Sebastian Stan, Arnie Hammer, Sam Page, Hilary Duff and Michelle Trachtenberg had recurring roles.
It also spawned a spin-off series of the same name, but only ran for two seasons before it was canceled by HBO in 2023.

The original Gossip Girl currently boasts a whopping 84% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to a rating of 79% from the audience.
Margaret Lyons from Vulture praised: ‘There’s no way around how terrific that first season was. And the pilot – that pilot is just about perfect.’
While Common Sense Media’s Sierra Filucci agreed: ‘It’s all very titillating and addictive.’
Lyma D raved: ‘Can rewatch this all day every day.’

‘My favorite show of all time because of its intensity, passion and of course, style,’ an impressed viewer penned. ‘All the actors and actresses are able to portray their characters so seamlessly and perfectly. Xoxo.’
Another added: ‘This show is so smooth, stylish and packed with so many surprises. Guilty pleasure at its best.’
