Scottie’s name carries deep personal significance for Davidson. According to Us Weekly, the couple named their daughter in honor of Davidson’s late father, Scott Matthew Davidson.

Scott Davidson was a New York City firefighter who died while responding to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Pete Davidson was just 7 years old at the time. Over the years, he has spoken openly about how losing his father shaped his life and career.

Davidson previously recalled a memory from that day during a 2023 episode of the “Real Ones” podcast, sharing that his father had planned to pick him up from school before everything changed. “My dad told me he was going to pick me up from school on 9/11. I got picked up by my mom,” he said at the time, adding that she did not explain what had happened for several days, per Us Weekly.

The baby’s middle name, Rose, also holds meaning. Rose is Hewitt’s middle name, giving Scottie a name that reflects both sides of her family and blends remembrance with connection.
