Peter Andre and his wife Dr Emily MacDonagh have pulled out of his daughter Princess Andre’s ITV2 reality show, according to reports.

The Princess Diaries, which followed the life of Peter’s 18-year-old daughter – whom he shares with Katie Price – dropped on ITV2 and ITVX in August this year.

Shortly after its premiere, however, mum Katie hit out at the show, calling it ‘insulting’, and claiming that she had been prevented from appearing as a guest by Peter and his management.

She said at the time: ‘Everyone knows she’s my daughter. What difference does it make? Like, if it wasn’t for me or Pete, Princess and (son) Junior wouldn’t be known anyway. I find it [to be] an insult.’

Now, after Katie’s comments, it appears that Peter and Dr Emily have made the decision to stand down from Princess’ series in order to quieten the ‘noise’ surrounding it.

An inside source revealed to the Daily Mail on Monday: ‘Pete and Emily will not feature in The Princess Diaries seasons two and three.

‘It was discussed between him and Princess, and they decided as a family that it’s better for the show to focus on Princess alone, rather than her family life.’

The source continued: ‘Katie was obviously very hurt over not being asked to film alongside Princess for season one, and she caused a lot of drama and upset behind the scenes.

‘No one wants Princess to feel caught between her two parents, so Pete has taken a massive step back, which he hopes will resolve many of the issues.’

The source added that Katie and Peter, while at odds with each other, both want the best for Princess, and the decision has been taken to allow the show to focus on her.

However, despite brother Junior, 20, being involved with the show, producers are said to be ‘struggling for storylines’ according to the Mail’s source.

In the four-part first season, Peter was featured regularly and was there for some big moments in the story, including the day Princess passed her driving test and on her 18th birthday.

Katie claimed at the time that she was barred from attending Princess’ 18th birthday, saying on her podcast The Katie Price Show that ‘certain people’ banned her.

She said: ‘Princess is now officially an adult, so mummy and Princess can now go out together – if certain people would let her be seen with me.’

After being told that Princess wore shoes at her 18th party that her former glamour model mum had bought for her, Katie replied, ‘Oh, did she? I love that.’

She continued: ‘Everyone knows she’s doing this documentary—and I’m not in it. Certain people don’t think it’s good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me.

‘I’m just saying, Princess was like, “I’m having a party.” And I wasn’t invited because it was for filming.’

It’s not yet known when the second season of The Princess Diaries will air, with ITV having not confirmed a specific release date, and nothing is known yet over the length of the season.

Peter married Dr Emily tied the knot in 2015, six years after his divorce from Katie – Peter and Katie had been married for four years at the time of their split.
