Like pretty much every year in modern history that came before it, 2025 has had its fair share of celebrity scandals.
Whether it be actors, pop stars, royals, politicians, or otherwise, the news has been stacked with stories that bring such individuals into disrepute â some of which the high-profile individuals in question simply can’t come back from (Diddy, we’re looking at you).
However, while some other stars have endured their share of controversy or negative press, they’ve come out on the other side with their reputations relatively unscathed (or at least not been jailed or lost any chance of ever working again because of it).
In this piece, we’ll take a look at 10 such examples when stars overcame scandals in 2025…
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Dispute
GettyThe dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni began on the set of their 2024 movie “It Ends With Us.” Baldoni directed and starred in the romantic drama, while Lively starred in an executive produced it. Their feud was said to have started over creative differences between the pair, but took a darker turn, with Lively alleging sexual harassment against Baldoni. At the start of 2025, Baldoni filed counter lawsuits.
The case is ongoing, and while both stars’ reputations have taken hits, they’re still working, and no proof of wrongdoing yet exists. Lively appeared in the black comedy mystery “Another Simple Favor” in 2025 and Baldoni is still producing ongoing projects through his company Wayfarer Studios.
Drake and Kendrick Lamar Feud
GettyThe rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has long been public knowledge. However, in 2025, after years of berating each other, the feud peaked at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show, as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs.
Lamar performed several of his songs, but some of his lyrical choices were quite clearly intended to insult Drake. The Canadian rapper responded by taking legal action, citing defamation claims. The feud will, therefore, undoubtedly continue long into 2026, but neither star will be losing any fans over the whole petty thing.
Lily Allen and David Harbour Split
GettyLilly Allen and David Harbour began a relationship in 2019 and married in 2020. However, in early 2025, rumors started seeping their way into the media about the couple going their separate ways. If it wasn’t already clear, it became so in November, when Allen released her album “West End Girl” and included some very private details about the split. She has since spoken openly about it.
“West End Girl” peaked at number two in the UK album charts and its release coincided with the launch of season five of Harbour’s “Stranger Things,” which was also a monumental success. Suffice it to say, the couple splitting hasn’t done anything to hinder their respective careers.
Elon Musk’s Relationship With Donald Trump
GettyThe relationship between the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, and the United States president, Donald Trump, has been a turbulent one. In 2024, Musk joined Trump at his inauguration and, as recently as 2025, joined him in the White House after being declared a special government employee.
Having been pictured in the Oval Office with Trump as recently as May, Musk’s relationship with the POTUS reportedly went sour the very next month. Musk was removed from his government position and the pair sent jibes at each other on social media. However, Musk is still stupidly rich and Trump is still the most powerful man in America, so they’ve both come out of their petty public scandal relatively unscathed.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Split
GettyAfter 19 years of marriage, actress Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from musician Keith Urban in September 2025. They had been seen together at events as recently as June, so things must have gone sour between them fast, and the entertainment industry was rocked by the news.
Both stars have overcome their public split, though. Kidman’s acting career continues to thrive. In 2026, she’s set to star in the movie sequel “Practical Magic 2” and the two television series “Scarpetta” and “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.” Urban continues to be a hugely successful country musician. Just this month, he released his first full-length live album, “High and (A)live.”
The Beckham Family Feud
GettyThe famous Beckham family â David, Victoria, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper â have always seemed so incredibly close-knit. In fact, the Beckham brand has largely been built on their close relationship as a husband, wife, mother, father, and four siblings. It was, therefore, surprising when Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, stopped appearing in public with the rest of the Beckham clan.
The whole family haven’t been seen together since the end of 2024, and Brooklyn was noticeably absent from both his dad’s 50th birthday celebrations and knighthood at Buckingham Palace. Stories have since surfaced about a rift in the Beckham family. However, despite Cruz seemingly confirming the news, everyone seems to be doing well in their careers and lives, with Brooklyn still regularly posting cooking tips to his 16.1 million Instagram followers.
Hugh Jackman’s Alleged Affair
GettyAfter being married for 27 years, Hugh Jackman and Debora-Lee Furness finalized their divorce in June of 2025. While the reasons for the split were never officially confirmed, Furness had made suggestions that she’d been betrayed in some way and that the experience had been traumatic.
In October, Jackman made his red carpet debut with new girlfriend Sutton Foster â his co-star from Broadway musical “The Music Man” â prompting speculation that they’d had an affair while Jackman was still married to Furness. However, Jackman is still thriving in Hollywood and insists both he and his ex-wife are moving forward positively following their split.
Prince Harry Blames King Charles
GettyWhen Prince Harry married actress Meghan Markle in 2018, he famously took a step back from the royal family and now lives in the United States, seemingly with all ties severed from King Charles and the rest of the Windsors. In May of 2025, Harry’s tell-all interview with the BBC saw him blame his father for the rift.
Harry said Charles “won’t speak” to him and suggested his dad’s lack of assistance with security has made it “impossible” for his family to safely return to the United Kingdom. However, given that it was recently revealed that the King has pictures of Harry and Megan on display at Clarence House, some believe a reconciliation is possible. Meanwhile, Charles is indeed still the British monarch and Harry and Megan are happily doing their own thing in California.
Coldplay Kiss-Cam
GettyIn July of 2025, as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour, Coldplay performed at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The band did a “kiss-cam” segment, whereby couples in the audience would appear on a big screen and were expected to kiss in a show of affection. However, when the camera focused on one embracing couple, they awkwardly parted and hid their faces, prompting Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to say, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy!”
They were revealed to be Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR executive Kristin Cabot, both of whom were married to other people. In the aftermath, there were professional and personal implications for both of them, but Coldplay remain hugely successful and are continuing to do their kiss-cam segment because they want to keep meeting and interacting with their fans.
Sydney Sweeney’s Jeans Ad
GettyIn July of 2025, Sydney Sweeney was part of an advertising campaign for American Eagle jeans that included the words “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.” She also spoke specifically about her “great genes” in one of the campaign’s ads. It caused controversy, with some suggesting it implied her inherited traits, like blonde hair and blue eyes, meant she was superior to other demographics.
The campaign went viral and Sweeney received significant backlash, which she shrugged off. While one of her recent movies, “Christy,” was a massive commercial flop, another, “The Housemaid,” is expected to achieve at least moderate success, and she is still hugely popular and in-demand. Sweeney will also appear in “The Devil Wears Prada 2” next year.
So there you have it: not all celebrity scandals leave to ongoing widespread negativity (and not all of them are that serious to begin with, quite frankly!).
