Ellie Goulding is very ‘loved up’ with Beau Minniear, as a body language expert decodes their recent cosy airport appearance.
The 38-year-old star revealed her pregnancy on the red carpet earlier this week as she stepped out with her 28-year-old actor boyfriend.
This is Goulding’s second child, and her first with boyfriend Beau Minniear, whom she publicly confirmed she was dating in September during a low-key London outing.
Days after announcing the pregnancy, the couple was snapped in an airport with her boyfriend, where they were seen passionately kissing.
Body language expert Judi James has revealed that the public appearance made it clear how happy the pair are with the pregnancy.
‘There are at least four key non-verbal giveaways here that define how ecstatically happy and proud these two are about the pregnancy.
She then began: ‘First there’s Ellie’s “Baby bump boast” where she allows a small gap beneath her t-shirt to show off that bump to the world.
‘Then there’s the suppressed smile failure where they seem to try to pull straight faces and drop their eyes in a cut-off to get past the press, but those soppy-happy smiles just keep breaking out on their faces.’
Judi then reflected on Beau’s physical cues, which revealed he was now in ‘alpha male’ mode and protective over Ellie’s growing bump.
‘The third signal is his ‘paw’ hand clasp where he has gone into alpha male protective mode, encasing her hand in his big ‘paw’ and seeming to be showing off all his arm and shoulder muscles into the process.
‘This is a form of pregnancy peacocking where the male adopts a more macho look at the thought of becoming a dad.’
Judi also added that their kissed only sealed the deal in showing how loved up the pair are.
‘But if anyone were still in doubt there’s the huge PDA where he pulls Ellie into his arms for a passionate, loving smacker of a kiss to show the entire airport how in love they are.’
Ellie was formerly married to art dealer Caspar Jopling. The couple announced their split in February 2024 after four-and-a-half years of marriage. He is now in a relationship with actress Olivia Wilde.
In matching statements at the time, both emphasised their ongoing friendship and their commitment to co-parenting their son, Arthur, now 4.
Goulding wrote that she had been left ‘with no choice’ but to address speculation about the separation, stressing that the two had parted ways privately and amicably.
Jopling echoed the sentiment, calling Arthur ‘the best kiddo in the world’ and asking for privacy.
