<p id=”par-1_24″>After mounting pressure from the public as well as members of the royal family, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/prince-andrew-no-choice-drop-royal-titles-expert-says.html/”>Prince Andrew has finally given up</a> his Duke of York title.</p>
<p id=”par-2_69″>In a statement following that decision, Andrew said: “In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.</p>
<p id=”par-3_42″>“With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_49″>However, the disgraced prince still enjoys one major perk of royal life: <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/prince-william-kate-pretty-ticked-stuck-with-prince-andrew-neighbor.html/”>living in a massive estate</a> on the grounds of Windsor Great Park. However, the calls for him to leave are growing louder. One person just offered a huge castle for him to take up residence in. </p>

<p id=”par-5_13″>Prince Andrew’s current residence, Royal Lodge, is part of the Crown Estate. </p>
<p id=”par-6_51″>It has a total of 30 rooms, including seven bedrooms spread across the two top floors, as well as a large drawing room known as The Formal Room, a saloon, and an indoor swimming pool. When the duke moved in, he extensively renovated the property to the tune of about $9 million.</p>
<p id=”par-7_24″>In 2003, Andrew signed a 75-year lease to live at the estate and pay £250 ($329) a week. Therefore, that release will run out in 2078. </p>
<p id=”par-8_43″>As more comes out about his association with Jeffrey Epstein and allegations in Virginia Giuffre’s memoir come to light, the prince faces pressure to leave Royal Lodge. Protestors have even shown up at the gates of the property, making their opinions known. </p>
<p id=”par-9_40″>Andrew has outlasted calls before to move, with some reportedly coming from King Charles and Prince William. But if he does decide to leave, he won’t have a downgrade from his home. Instead, he can move into a castle. </p>

<p id=”par-10_32″>Attorney Samantha Kane bought the 19-bedroom Carbisdale Castle in the Scottish Highlands in 2022. She has offered Prince Andrew to stay there as she spends the bulk of her time in London. </p>
<p id=”par-11_84″><a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15220123/Prince-Andrews-unlikely-ally-Highlands-self-styled-Lady-Carbisdale-steps-offer-royal-castle.html”>The Daily Mail</a> reported that Kane, who also goes by Lady Carbisdale now, said: “I am writing to the prince to offer my castle for his exclusive use — and that of his family, including <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/sarah-ferguson-is-in-a-bad-way-now-after-her-daughters-princesses-beatrice-and-eugenie-were-dragged-into-epstein-scandal.html/”>his former wife, Sarah Ferguson</a>. I feel strongly that he is being hounded unfairly. He remains innocent of these allegations. I am also prepared to offer to represent him against these allegations and over moves to oust him from his current property. I really think he has been treated badly.”</p>
<p id=”par-12_25″>She continued, “I believe the prince, like anyone else, must not be judged by public opinion without a proper hearing, which he was not given.”</p>
