<p id=”par-1_44″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-harry/”>Prince Harry</a> left the life he knew in England behind when he stepped back from his duties as a senior royal and moved to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle. However, a new report claims that Harry is “nostalgic” for royal life.</p>

<p id=”par-2_64″>Royal reporter Michael Cole told<a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHbyNuZ2RRI” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”> GB News</a> that he believes <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/prince-harry-relationship-princess-diana-family-proves-never-cut-ties-united-kingdom.html/?swcfpc=1″>Harry’s visit to his mother’s childhood home</a>, Althorp, during her death anniversary on August 31, reportedly brought back nostalgia for the senior royal. “I’m sure Norfolk in high summer is very beautiful,” the royal reporter explained. He added, “I am sure [Harry] is nostalgic for the life and the people he has left behind.”</p>
<p id=”par-3_41″>Prince Harry reportedly visited his mother’s grave while staying with the Spencer family during a trip to the U.K. to attend a memorial for his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes. Diana was buried at her childhood home after she died in 1997.</p>
<p id=”par-4_18″>Diana’s grave is located on an island within Round Oval Lake. An unmarked stone marks her burial site.</p>
<p id=”par-5_40″>The grave is not open to the public. However, a Grecian-style memorial topped by Diana’s name is open to those who visit Althorp and would like to pay their respects to the late Princess of Wales during the summer months.</p>
<p id=”par-6_45″>The memorial features four columns and a silhouette of Diana at its center. On either side are two tablets. One features a tribute her brother, Charles Spencer, gave at Diana’s funeral. The other features a quote from Diana about her deep love for charitable work.</p>
<p id=”par-7_30″>However, even being in the U.K. during this time of remembrance did little to thaw the frosty relationship between Harry and his brother, Prince William. The brothers reportedly remain estranged.</p>

<p id=”par-8_28″>“Long term, very, very long term,” said Michael Cole of <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/prince-harry-prince-william-reunion-wont-happen-until-king-charles-funeral-source.html/?swcfpc=1″>mending the royal rift</a> between Prince Harry and Prince William. “An ice cap has formed over their relationship.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_48″>He continued, “I can’t see it melting for a very long time. It was just last week that they were in the same building for some time [the funeral for their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes]. Prince William didn’t look at his brother. He didn’t speak to his brother.”</p>
<p id=”par-10_34″>Cole believes that there are “slim” and “none” chances of a reconciliation between William and Harry. He called the brothers’ family feud “awful.” However, “by definition, one <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/insider-claims-prince-harry-meghan-markle-enjoyed-aspect-royal-life-more-than-any-other-it-shows.html/?swcfpc=1″>within the royal family</a> is even worse.”</p>
<p id=”par-11_19″>Cole says that one is simply just a member of the royal family. They “don’t have to do anything.”</p>
<p id=”par-12_49″>But he says of Harry, “If you are a semi-detached member of the royal family living on a hilltop in California, you have to be doing something. You have to be going somewhere.” Thus, Harry’s two high-profile trips with Meghan Markle in the summer of 2024 match Cole’s remarks.</p>

<p id=”par-13_60″>In the past several months, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have reportedly attempted to repair their reputation as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by taking what appear to be royally sanctioned trips. In May, the couple traveled to Nigeria, and in August, they traveled to Columbia. However, neither of these visits was connected to the royal family.</p>
<p id=”par-14_55″>Per<a href=”https://african.business/2024/05/arts-culture/inside-prince-harry-and-meghan-markles-nigeria-trip#:~:text=Their%20visit%20to%20Nigeria%20was,no%20longer%20%E2%80%9Cworking%20royals%E2%80%9D.” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”> African Business</a>, Harry and Meghan’s Nigeria visit “was planned in connection with Prince Harry’s role as founder and patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, which supports wounded, injured, and sick service people, both serving and veterans. Nigeria, which joined the Invictus ‘Community of Nations’ in 2022, was the first African country to do so.”</p>
<p id=”par-15_40″>Harry and Meghan’s trip to Columbia came from an official invitation from the country’s Vice President Francia Elena Márquez. The<a href=”https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4gdkljn78ko” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”> BBC</a> reported the couple’s trip was an attempt to promote their charity work and make the internet safer for children.</p>
<p id=”par-16_25″>However, royal reporter Michael Cole sees these excursions as Harry and Meghan’s relevance outside of the royal family. He calls them “JOE: Justification of Existence.”</p>
<p id=”par-17_34″>“Trips to Nigeria, trips to Columbia. Forever on the backfoot trying to demonstrate that you’re relevant. This does not apply to members of the royal family. They know what their job is,” Cole concluded.</p>
<p id=”par-18_25″>Prince Harry and Meghan Markle run the not-for-profit Archewell Foundation. The couple lives in Montecito, California, with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.</p>
