Rapper Young Scooter’s cause of death has been revealed days after he died on his 39th birthday.

The artist, best known for collaborating with the likes of Future and Gucci Maine, was taken to Grady Marcus Trauma Center in Atlanta by emergency medical services, where he was pronounced dead on Friday March 28.

Now the Fulton County Medical Examiner has revealed his cause of death as ‘marked’ blood loss after he cut his right thigh on a wooden fence.

The medical examiner said: ‘This injury was not a gunshot wound.

‘Mr. Bailey injured himself on organic (wooden) fencing material and/or woody debris after vaulting at least one fence.’

It is said the Atlanta rapper, real name Kenneth Edward Bailey, came into contact with ‘fencing material and/or woody debris’ while jumping a wooden fence.

Atlanta Police Lt. Andrew Smith held a news conference after the death, stating that officers responded to disruption with a weapon at a home.

After a man shut the door on them, they established a perimeter and two men attempted to flee from the back of the house.

One returned but the other, identified as Bailey, jumped the fence.

Smith said: ‘When officers located him on the other side of the fence, he appeared to have suffered an injury to his leg.’

Following Scooter’s death, reports that he had died after being shot by police began circulating on social media.

Smith denied the man was fatally shot by any officers, adding: ‘Just to be very clear, the injury that was sustained was not via the officers on scene. It was when the male was fleeing.’

The police added: ‘While we understand that many people are saddened by his passing, it is important to recognize that Atlanta police officers neither discharged their firearms nor used any force against Mr. Bailey.’

His manner of Bailey’s death was ruled an accident.

In 2012 Bailey was put on the rapping scene radar when he signed to Freebandz label, owned by Future.

He went on to collaborate with Gucci Mane on his Free Bricks 2 mixtape, and Bailey’s biggest hit was 2018’s Jet Lag, which entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
