In the days following the devastating deaths of filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, the Reiner family has been seen together for the first time, showing unity, love and support amid deep grief.

The Reiners were found dead on Dec. 14 in their Brentwood, California, home.

Authorities describe the deaths as an apparent homicide, and their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, is facing charges in connection with the case.

Despite the unimaginable circumstances, family members were photographed and observed supporting one another in images obtained by the Daily Mail.

The images were taken on Tuesday, December 16. Lucas Reiner, the brother of Rob, was seen hugging people as they arrived at the house.

Rose Reiner, the niece of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner, and the daughter of Lucas, was also seen arriving at the home. She carried a few bags and flowers into her father’s home.

The family’s presence together in public has been seen by some as a sign of resilience and commitment to one another in the face of tragic loss, giving friends and fellow loved ones a moment to offer condolences and shared remembrance.

Reiner’s Legacy

Rob Reiner, 78, left a remarkable legacy across television and film that touched generations of fans and colleagues. He first became known as Michael “Meathead” Stivic on “All in the Family” and later earned widespread acclaim for directing films including “This Is Spinal Tap,” “Stand by Me,” “The Princess Bride,” and “When Harry Met Sally…” — stories and characters that resonated far beyond Hollywood.

Michele Singer Reiner, 68, was a photographer and producer whose creative talents complemented her husband’s.

Married since 1989, the couple shared a life built on family, art, and shared social passions, often seen together at public events supporting causes they cared about.

They had three children: Jake, Nick, and Romy. Rob Reiner also had a daughter named Tracy with his late ex-wife Penny Marshall.

The Family Asks for Privacy

When the tragic news was revealed, the family released a statement via Variety.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,” it stated.

Nick was arrested on Sunday night in connection with their deaths. He is currently being held without bail.

On Tuesday, December 16, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced he is set to be charged with double homicide in the tragic death of his parents and could face the death penalty.
