RHONJ Alum Details Secret Meeting With Former Co-Star

Melissa Gorga had a surprise meetup with Kathy Wakile.

“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star secretly met up with her husband’s estranged cousin to hash things out, Wakile claimed in a new interview.

Wakile was a main cast member and “friend of” from seasons 3 to 7 on the Bravo reality show. Gorga’s status on RHONJ is in limbo amid the show’s hiatus after season 14.

There has been buzz about Wakile’s potential return to the Bravoverse ever since she made a surprise appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live” last year.

In an interview with Sirius XM’s Page Six Radio on April 23, Wakile revealed that Gorga saw her at a local charity event but didn’t come over to her. “I didn’t see them, but they saw me and didn’t say hello,” she claimed. “The next day, Melissa texts me, which was very nice. She reached out and said how sad it was that we were at the same event, and we walked by each other and didn’t say hello.”

Wakile said Gorga texted her to ask, “I think that there’s things we should talk about. Would you be open?”

“So, we met for lunch,” Wakile said, noting that the meetup went “fine” but perhaps not exactly as Gorga would have “liked it to go.” She also speculated that Gorga only asked to meet up with her as a potential future storyline for RHONJ.  “I think that could’ve been a really good part of it,”  Wakile admitted.

Wakile questioned why Gorga later appeared on “Jeff Lewis Live” and acted as though the meetup hadn’t happened yet. But a rep for Gorga told Page Six that Wakile had asked Gorga to “please not tell anyone about the lunch” or mention it in interviews.

In June 2024, Gorga appeared on “Jeff Lewis Live” and revealed that Wakile and her husband Richie were building a house directly across the street from her Franklin Lakes mansion.

Gorga also said hoped her husband would bump into his cousin sometime on their shared street. The Envy boutique described Wakile as a “good cousin” to her husband before a falling out took place when they were all cast members on RHONJ.

Soon after, Wakile was a surprise guest on WWHL and said the suggestion of the family reconciling was “very convenient” for Gorga. She also pointed out that each property sits on “acres”, so no one sees their neighbors.

Gorga  reacted on her â€œOn Display With Melissa Gorga” podcast, calling Wakile’s negative reaction “weird.” “Your loss,” Gorga said of Wakile. “Stay on your side of the street. All good. I tried.”
