It’s been two and a half years since Lisa Marie Presley died, but not a day goes by that she’s not in her children’s thoughts. When she died, she left behind Riley Keough, 35, and her now 16-year-old twins, Harper and Finley Lockwood. Her son, Benjamin Keough, died by suicide in 2020.
Keough posted a single photo of her mother and siblings on her Instagram stories for Mother’s Day. In the photo, Lisa Marie, Finley, Harper, and Keough sit in a restaurant. Lisa Marie’s pasta is still in front of her, and Harper is perched behind her mother with her hands on her shoulders. Keough sits next to her mother, gold circles on her cheeks, and Finley peers between her and his mother. She captioned the photo, “Thinking of all of the mamas today. And our angel mama ð”

Keough often posts sweet remembrances of her mother. Just a week after Lisa Marie died, Keough posted a photo of them gazing lovingly at each other when she was a child. Several days later, she posted their last photo with the caption, “I feel blessed to have a photo of the last time I saw my beautiful mama. Grateful @georgieflores took this. â¤ï¸”
Keough often remembers her mother on her birthday, the day she died, and Mother’s Day. The model posted a rare photo of blonde Lisa Marie and her father holding an infant Keough. She captioned the picture “Lucky to have had the best and most deeply loving mama I could have asked for ð”
When Lisa Marie died, she was in the process of writing her memoirs, which she’d enlisted Keough to help with. Keough forged on and finished the book on her own, despite the grief she was experiencing.
In the finished book, From Here to the Great Unknown, she wrote about realizing how lucky she was to have her mother’s voice on tape. “I am aware that the recordings my mother left are a gift,” she wrote. “So often, all thatâs left of a loved one is a saved and re-saved voicemail, a short video on a phone, some favorite photos. I take the privilege of these tapes very seriously.”

Keough revealed that she had welcomed her own daughter into the world during Lisa Marie’s memorial service. In September 2024, she admitted that she was raising Tupelo similarly to how she was raised.
“I think that I always say it’s this southern style of parenting, but it’s actually very specifically my family,” Keough told People. “I think it is from the south, but whatever way she was parented was how I was parented in a sense. And I also now sort of parent that way. It’s really loving and tactile and smothering â no boundaries.”
At the same time, she’s doing other things very differently. While Lisa Marie loved giving her kids extraordinary experiences, Keough is trying to keep her daughter’s feet on the ground.
“And so I really want my children to be able to find joy playing in the backyard and doing normal kids stuff and not need elephants and circus and all these things all the time,” she told People.
