
Maggie Baugh is an up-and-coming country star. Here are five fast facts about the rising musician!
1. Baugh Went Viral on TikTok
In 2022, Baugh went viral on TikTok for a series she called “Finish the Lick.” In the videos, someone would play a portion of a song and she would try to finish it on her guitar.
One of her most popular videos received over six million views, as she played Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” while she was sitting outside on a bench. In total, she has received over 40 million views across all social platforms, according to her website.
Fans couldn’t get enough of it. One user wrote, “Omg I thought Maggie was gonna sing it but instead she did it with the guitar that was so good!”
2. She Started Music When She Was Around 6 Years Old
Baugh revealed she started playing music when she was only 6 years old and started with classical music, according to the Hamilton County Reporter.
Originally from Florida, she started to go to Nashville around the age of 13. The same year she started songwriting.
âI put out my very first record when I was 13 years old. Iâm actually from south Florida and itâs a festival season all year round in south Florida, so I toured a lot there,” she told the outlet. “I started touring at the bigger venues and all the way up and down the state and up into Virginia. Then when I was 18 years old, I moved to Nashville and started touring a bunch.”
3. Baugh Has Played Alongside Some Big Country Names
The multi-talented songwriter credits her ability of being able to play numerous instruemtns as one of the factors to her success.
She sat down with PEOPLE in October 2021 to dish on how it has helped her upcoming career.
“Being a multi-instrumentalist has really opened a lot of doors for me,” Baugh stated
The 25-year-old has already played with the likes of Kane Brown and Luke Combs. She has also played alongside Luke Bryan and Trace Adkins in Adkins’ music video for “Where the Country Girls At.”
She has also worked as one of Keith Urban’s guitar players.
She added, “If I wasn’t a musician at heart, I probably wouldn’t have been able to get that opportunity.”
4. Baugh Is Currently On Tour
Baugh is currently on a self-titled tour. She shared additional tour dates in September. It’s set to go through November 1, 2025.
“More dates are here & this tour is not over!!! I had so much fun with you this summer I decided to add some more dates into the fall, with more coming soon,” she shared to social media.
5. She Writes From Personal Experiences
While speaking with PEOPLE she revealed that she often writes from heartbreak.
“I feel like music has always just been my boyfriend,” she told the outlet. “So, whenever I have a boyfriend, it’s always like, ‘Oh, you’re just temporary.’”
She added that she will turn to music to get through the hard moments.
“But when I do go through a breakup, I don’t go to the bar. I put my guitar in my hands. The overall concept of the song was to show people that you’re not alone,” she added.
