Camila Mendes is mourning the death of her grandmother, sharing a deeply emotional tribute only weeks after celebrating her engagement. The “Riverdale” actress revealed the loss on November 30, posting heartfelt memories and honoring the woman she described as the “wisest, strongest matriarch” in her life.

Mendes started her emotional message with a throwback photo and the words “rest in peace, vovó lea 🕊️,” before reflecting on her grandmother’s grace, dignity, and strength.

In her tribute, Mendes looked back on the moments she cherished most with her grandmother.

“i’m gonna miss staying up late, tomando café com leite, listening to your advice on love and partnership,” she wrote.

“i’m gonna miss eating your famous pão de mel. Hearing that sweet, high-pitched giggle of yours that brought me so much joy.”

She shared several photos spanning different stages of her grandmother’s life, along with family snapshots that captured their close bond.

Fans quickly filled the comments with support, writing messages like,

Her Loss Comes Shortly After Celebrating Her Engagement

In late October, she and Mancuso got engaged during a surprise proposal arranged with help from family and friends.

Mendes believed she was heading to a friend’s birthday celebration, but instead walked into a surprise engagement party.
