Sir Rod Stewart has blasted Gregg Wallace over his Masterchef exit in a brutal takedown on Instagram.

Gregg, 60, is stepping down from the franchise after the BBC announced it was investigating historical allegations of misconduct against him.

In a surprising post, next year’s Glastonbury Legend branded the presenter a ‘tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully’.

Sir Rod, 79, wrote: ‘So Greg Wallace gets fired from Masterchef. Good riddance Wallace…

‘You humiliated my wife when she was on the show but you had that bit cut out didn’t you? You’re a tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully. Karma got ya.’

His wife Penny Lancaster appeared on Masterchef Celebrity in 2021, making it nearly all the way to the semi-final before being booted off.

Gregg, along with John Torode, had complained about her timekeeping abilities and called her 10-minute delay ‘serious’.

Before her exit, Penny said she would be ‘quite deflated’ to leave the competition because she was ‘loving this’.

However, Sir Rod’s accusation suggests off-screen tensions were higher than the model let on during her exit.

Aside from the general insults, the Sailing singer’s post also spelled Gregg’s name wrong, which is a known sore-spot for the presenter.

Days ago, it was revealed that 13 people had accused the host of making inappropriate sexual comments, including former Newsnight’s Kirsty Wark, who competed on Celebrity MasterChef in 2011.

BBC News reported that Wallace was accused of allegedly talking openly about his sex life, telling a junior female colleague that he wasn’t wearing boxer shorts under his jeans, and taking his top off in front of a female worker and saying that he wanted to ‘give her a fashion show’.

In a statement regarding the allegations made against Wallace, a BBC spokesperson said: ‘We take any issues that are raised with us seriously and we have robust processes in place to deal with them.

‘We are always clear that any behaviour which falls below the standards expected by the BBC will not be tolerated.

‘Where an individual is contracted directly by an external production company we share any complaints or concerns with that company and we will always support them when addressing them.’
