<p id=”par-1_24″>Surprise, surprise, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/meghan-markle/?swcfpc=1″>Meghan Markle</a> has caused a stir and ruffled feathers at the Palace recently for doing something the royals didn’t see coming. </p>
<p id=”par-2_48″>More than five years after she and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-harry/?swcfpc=1″>Prince Harry</a> stepped down as working members of the royal family and made an agreement with <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/queen-elizabeth-ii/”>Queen Elizabeth II</a> that they would no longer use their His/Her Royal Highness titles, the duchess shared a message on Instagram addressing her as such.</p>
<p id=”par-3_36″>The letter Meghan shared was from Ukraine’s vice president and began, “Your Royal Highness, I would like to express my sincere thanks for everything your family is doing for Ukraine” following Prince Harry’s brief visit to the country.</p>
<p id=”par-4_48″>The duchess’s choice to publicly share the letter with that banned title has raised plenty of eyebrows, and sources say no one at the Palace is pleased, especially <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-william/?swcfpc=1″>Prince William</a>. Some now believe Meghan is daring her brother-in-law to take away their titles once and for all. </p>

<p id=”par-5_61″><em>To DI For Daily</em> podcast host Kinsey Schofield talked to Sky News host Rita Panahi about the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/meghan-markle-getting-residual-checks-suits-surprise-streaming-success.html/”>former <em>Suits</em> star</a> using that HRH title and breaking the promise to Queen Elizabeth II that she wasn’t going to use it again. The royal commentator also explained why she thinks Meghan is really “poking the bear” and Prince William won’t tolerate that. </p>
<p id=”par-6_59″>Schofield said: “Meghan Markle is poking the bear here. I have it on good authority that Prince William wants to strip them of their titles, and the Sussexes would like reassurance that he won’t do that, knowing how much it would hurt their commercial opportunities. Harry and Meghan are the new <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/why-is-sarah-ferguson-still-a-duchess-after-her-divorce-from-prince-andrew.html/”>Fergie</a> and [Prince] Andrew; they cheapen the crown.</p>

<p id=”par-9_52″>According to a courtier who spoke to <a href=”https://radaronline.com/p/prince-william-strip-harry-meghan-sussex-title/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Radar Online</a>, while King Charles has no plans to strip Harry and Meghan of their Sussex titles he will allow his eldest to do it, but not until William takes the throne himself. In other words, it won’t be done as long as Charles is alive. </p>
<p id=”par-10_38″>As to why the king won’t remove Harry and Meghan’s Sussex titles, the courtier said the monarch is “cowardly” and too concerned about any damage it would cause to his reputation and backlash from the couple’s supporters. </p>
<p id=”par-11_50″>“The king was especially stung by Harry labeling him an emotionally cold father in his scathing <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/prince-harrys-memoir-spare-now-become-one-most-discarded-books-time.html/”>memoir, <em>Spare</em></a>,” the Palace insider said. “But the monarch is very concerned about his image and fears backlash from his subjects. That’s why he’d never dare take away Harry’s<strong> </strong>Sussex title–despite all the hurt he’s caused.” </p>
<p id=”par-12_55″>“Behind the scenes, people are saying that the royals have quietly sanctioned the title removal–if<a href=”https://radaronline.com/p/harry-meghan-divorce-inevitable-experts-warn/”> </a>Harry and Meghan step out of line again. The removal would require an Act of Parliament. But those in the know say the Palace has already called several secret meetings to discuss the possibility and put an actionable plan in place.”</p>
