In a heartfelt message shared on August 2, 2025, Parker posted a carousel of various photos from her years portraying the iconic character. In the caption, she wrote, “Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all.” Parker also acknowledged the deep love fans have for the character. She continued, “ I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt. To you all.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_106″>The Instagram post quickly went viral, with fans discussing the connection they felt to the beloved character and bemoaning the end of their journey. Fans, though largely critical of the reboot, are still feeling a sense of loss as they bid farewell to Carrie, likely for the very last time. Cynthia Nixon and<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/kristin-davis-finally-sets-record-striagh-rumors-dated-chris-noth.html/”> Kristin Davis</a> both penned heartfelt farewells, as well. Nixon shared a carousel of photos from her time on the set. Davis, who appears to be more shocked at the cancellation than her co-stars, has simply shared Michael Patrick King’s note to her own feed and expressed her sadness at leaving the show behind.</p>

The goal of the reboot was to bring beloved characters Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, and Charlotte York back to life for a modern reimagining of their lives in New York City. The series, developed by Michael Patrick King, ran for three seasons beginning in December 2021. Though it initially generated significant buzz, it experienced several hiccups and mixed reviews.</p>

The addition of characters like Che Diaz and the absence of <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/sex-and-the-city-the-cost-of-samantha-jones-studio-apartment.html/”>Samantha Jones </a>was a pain point, as well. Season 2 found its footing but suffered from a drop in viewership and choppy storytelling. Season 3 felt closer to the original than ever before, but it failed to recapture the interest of the original fan base.</p>
