Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Could Get ‘Extra Food’ and Time Out of His Cell if Guards Like Him, Former Inmate Says

Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs hoped for bail after federal agents arrested him in September 2024. Before his arrest, Homeland Security agents raided two of his homes, finding evidence to support nefarious activity. Combs pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, which included racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. For now, he resides in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. Here’s what a former inmate said about Combs possibly receiving special treatment.

Sean “Diddy” Combs currently stays in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. He’s attempted to get bail multiple times. However, judges continue to deny Combs’ bail requests, as they feel he poses a safety risk to the community and witnesses. They also fear he may be a flight risk.

The Metropolitan Detention Center, which houses 1,200 inmates, is known for its harsh conditions. Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said in a letter to U.S. Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky that the jail conditions are “not fit for pre-trial detention,” according to <a href=”https://www.forbes.com/sites/conormurray/2024/09/18/sean-diddy-combs-reportedly-complains-about-horrific-jail-conditions-what-to-know-about-notorious-metropolitan-detention-center/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Forbes. He also stated that “numerous courts in this district have raised concerns with the horrific conditions of detention here.”

So, does Combs have to <span style=”margin: 0px;padding: 0px”>endure the same harsh conditions as the other inmates? A former inmate told <a href=”https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/inside-diddys-new-life-behind-bars-pure-hell-horrible-jail-excl/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Us Weekly that if the guards like Combs, he could potentially get special treatment.

“If the guards take a liking to Diddy, he will get extra food, extra time out of his cell,” the former inmate said.

Another former inmate, Blair G., said Combs’ wealth could help him. “He’s rich … so they might not treat him so bad [as a] form of extortion,” the inmate said.

However, another former inmate countered Blair G.’s claim. “People on the outside would view you as a 10, but you automatically become a 5 in prison,” they noted. “It is a whole other world.”

Prison consultant Sam Mangel also noted that inmates locked up for sexual offenses are often “specifically targeted.”

Like all jails and prisons, the Metropolitan Detention Center offers a limited food menu.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons 2024 <a href=”https://www.bop.gov/foia/docs/FY24_National_Menu.pdf” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>national menu, Combs’s typical breakfast may include fruit, hot grits or oatmeal, whole wheat bread with jelly, skim milk, and coffee. Pancakes and French toast are also occasionally available.

Lunch options include scrambled eggs, chicken wraps, chicken patty sandwiches, hamburgers or black bean burgers, baked chicken or fish, or beef tacos. Inmates have their choice of the following sides: cole slaw, beans, steamed rice, baked potato, green beans, garlic macaroni, and corn.

For dinner, Combs can typically choose from roast beef with mashed potatoes and green beans, turkey roast with steamed rice and peas, Salisbury steak with corn and potatoes, black bean soup, chicken fajitas, pasta with marina sauce and meatballs, or vegetable soup.

Attorney and Seton Hall University Law School professor Bill Baroni told Us Weekly that inmates try to get extra food from the commissary, as it sells tuna packets, chocolate bars, and condiments. However, the commissary isn’t immediately available to newcomers.

Sean “Diddy” Combs might feel paranoid while staying in the Metropolitan Detention Center. Former inmate Larry Levine told <a href=”https://www.newsnationnow.com/banfield/diddy-jail-update-eating/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>NewsNation that an insider close to Combs believes that Combs might not be eating the food offered to him in jail. Combs allegedly might feel “paranoid” and “scared” by others poisoning his food.

“There’s people out there that he has things on that do have a substantial amount of money,” Levine explained. “Imagine if someone paid someone off on the inside to actually poison his food, give him a heart attack and he dies, and no one would really think anything of it. So that may be one of the reasons he’s not eating.”
