In the wake of the charges, the media has questioned whether other celebrities in his sphere know more than they let on. Combs stated the actor he admired and hoped to work with years before his arrest. Here’s who he named — and what that actor said about Combs.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was known for his lavish parties and close connections to those in Hollywood. Photos from his White Parties, which took place from 1998 to 2009, show A-listers in the all-white dress code laughing, hanging out, and having fun. Unfortunately, what allegedly occurred after hours has Combs under fire. Combs allegedly held “freak-off” sex parties that involved nonconsensual participants.

Vogue asked Combs questions about his life in 2018. “Who is one actor you hope to work with?” the publication asked.

“Denzel Washington,” Combs answered definitively. When asked why, he continued, “It’s Denzel!”

So, does Washington have the same respect for Combs? The actor hasn’t spoken out about Combs since Combs’ arrest in September 2024. However, actor and comedian Brandon T. Jackson said Washington warned him to leave Combs’ parties early.

“Denzel always told me — we’d be at the parties, he said, ‘Leave 30 minutes before the devil gets there,’” Jackson said, according to a clip posted to <a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNSDuaaBmKM” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>YouTube. “And he would say that. I will always remember that Denzel would leave the parties early, and I followed Denzel out. I’m out. You see what I’m saying? Because when you leave 30 minutes before the devil gets there, there ain’t nothing wrong with going to the parties.”

A source told <a href=”https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/denzel-washington-once-confronted-diddy-stormed-out-after-party-excl/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Us Weekly that Washington once stormed out of one of Combs’ White Parties.

“Denzel screamed, ‘You don’t respect anyone,’” the insider alleged. “[Denzel and his wife, Pauletta] had been partying until dawn [with Combs], and they had seen something and stormed out.”

Given this context, it seems doubtful that Washington will come to Combs’ aid as the trial nears.
