Alyssa Milano is a hugely recognizable figure in the world of entertainment. Born on December 19, 1972, in New York, she is an actress, producer, and activist best known for her work in television. She first gained fame as Samantha Micelli on the beloved 1980s sitcom âWhoâs the Boss?â and then went on to portray Phoebe Halliwell in the supernatural hit âCharmed.â
Over the years, Milano has also appeared in series such as âMelrose Place,â âMy Name Is Earl,â and âMistresses,â solidifying her status as a television star. Beyond acting, she is an outspoken advocate for social justice and womenâs rights, especially with the #MeToo movement.Â
This has made her influential both on and off the screen. However, a throwback from 1985 shows the young actress in a professional headshot right when her career first began.

GettyThe headshot shows Milano in 1985, when she would have been around 12 or 13 years old. In the black and white image, Milano is wearing a denim jacket and has thick shoulder-length hair.
1985 is also when Milano was first coming to prominence. That same year, she starred as Jenny Matrix in âCommandoâ alongside action star and Hollywood icon and bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger. A year earlier, she had begun her role in âWho’s the Boss?â and continued to perform on screen and stage throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
The Actress Shared A Recent No Make-up Photo
In more recent times, Milano has also shared a photograph of herself wearing no make-up. The actress posted the image online as part of her 52nd birthday celebrations, championing her natural look.
âThis is 52. No make up. No filters. Happiness. Sprinkle that (expletive) everywhere,â she wrote in the Instagram post.
âI love you all. Even the trolls. If you can hate a strangerâI can love a stranger. Soâ¦I love you,â she continued.
The no make-up and no-filter selfies have become something of a tradition, with Milano also posting a similar photograph for her 50th birthday on Instagram.
Milano Led Tributes To Julian McMahon
Earlier this year, Milano posted a lengthy and touching tribute to Julian McMahon. The 56 year old sadly died in July following a battle with cancer and his former âCharmedâ co-star Milano was quick to pay tribute to the actor.
âWe spent years together on Charmedâyears of scenes, stories, and so many in-between moments. He made me feel safe as an actor. Seen as a woman. He challenged me, teased me, supported me,â she wrote on Instagram.
She continued, âJulian was more than my TV husband. He was a dear friend. The kind who checks in. The kind who remembers. The kind who shares. The kind who tells you the truth, even when itâs uncomfortable â but always with love.â
