Fans first met Alyssa Milano as a child (then teenager) when she appeared as Samantha Micelli on the beloved ’80s sitcom “Who’s the Boss?” Those same fans likely later watched her as grown-up (and modern witch) Phoebe Halliwell on “Charmed.” Now, with almost 4 million Instagram followers still keeping up-to-date with the star, she’s shared a makeup-free selfie for a very special reason: It’s her 53rd birthday!
Celebrating the special occasion on Friday, December 19, the actress took to Instagram to share a photo of herself seemingly lounging in bed. With her hair somewhat tussled and a smile on her face, it appears as if she’s not wearing any makeup at all.
In the caption, she wrote, “My annual birthday selfie. No filter. No make up (just microbladed eye brows and whatever is left from my last round of Botox and filler). This is 53.”

You might have noticed that in Milano’s message for her 53rd birthday, she mentioned that she was posting an annual selfie. Indeed, back in December 2024, she also shared a look at herself without any makeup.
“This is 52,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post. “No make up. No filters. Happiness. Sprinkle that sh*t everywhere,” she wrote. “I love you all. Even the trolls. If you can hate a strangerâI can love a stranger. Soâ¦I love you. 𥰔
She then added, “Edit: yes, my eyebrows are micro-bladed.”
Alyssa Wants to Be Her ‘Authentic Self’
Milano also opened up about wanting to be her authentic self in September when she showed herself in a doctor’s office while getting her breast implants taken out.
“Today Iâm releasing those false narratives, the parts of me that were never actually parts of me. Iâm letting go of the body that was sexualized, that was abused, that I believed was necessary for me to be attractive; to be loved; to be successful; to be happy. And in doing so, I hope I am releasing my daughter Bella from ever feeling those same unhealthy demands,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
She added, “Now, I want to be clear that many women will find freedom and beauty in choosing their implants. What is a false narrative for me may be the exact right thing for them, and I am so happy that we can all find our femininity and peace on our own terms.”
“Today I am loved, I am feminine, I am attractive, and I am successful. None of that is because of my implants. I will still be all of those things when I wake up and they are gone,” the star continued. “There is so much and joy in that knowledge and freedom in letting go of what was never me in the first place,” she continued. “Today, Iâm my authentic self. Today, Iâm free.”
