When it comes to building a dream home, there’s no doubt that Jeff Bezos can afford whatever his heart desires. That apparently includes a rather unusual UFO-like addition to the property that he surely intends to share with his wife (and Blue Origin space passenger), Lauren Sánchez.
A new feature to the home that Bezos has been working on since he picked it up in 2020 from media mogul David Geffen for a whopping $165 million, the residence later saw another $10 million lot added to the sprawling space.
As for what can be found on the grounds, “[n]ew aerial photos reveal the luxurious and somewhat oddball amenities dotting the move-in ready Beverly Hills estate,” according to the New York Post. “Among them, something that seems like it fell from outer space.”
Indeed, along with plenty of other perks, the grounds now boast the out-of-this-world addition that can be found by the property’s cactus garden.
So, what is the UFO-like structure? Well, there are a few possibilities!
What Is the UFO-like Addition?
Although it’s not exactly clear what the UFO-like structure is, the New York Post notes that “[t]he shiny installation resembles an Apollo space capsule…”
However, reports are assuming it’s a fancy-looking sauna.
Beyond that, the Post points out that the pod-like structure “bares a striking resemblance to a made-to-order, stainless steel statement piece designed by Timothy Oulton Studio…”
Apparently, a scale replica of NASAâs Apollo 11 space capsule, it can be outfitted with a luxury interior and used for anything from a seating lounge to a workspace.
While the price of the pods aren’t listed for the public, we can assume that they’re not cheap.
The Property Boasts a Range of Perks
A UFO-like structure is far from the only thing you’ll find on Bezos’ Beverly Hills property.
Along with a Georgian-style, three-story main house that surely has an interior that’s as impressive as the exterior, the 10-acre property is an “old-world estate designed by American architect Roland Coate,” per the Post. It also “has deep ties to Hollywoodâs golden age” thanks to the fact that “[i]ts first inhabitant in the 1930s was Jack Warner, the co-founder of Warner Brothers.”
Nowadays, it includes two swimming pools that are decorated with images of sealife and while one is accessed by a stone pathway, the additional pool and spa area are nestled among picturesque landscaping.
Beyond that, there is a firepit and beach volley ball court as well as three pickleball courts along with a viewing deck where the residents can enjoy the sporting action.
