Gomez reshared a fan post that featured Swift’s 2009 tweet, in which she wrote: “Real love still happens sometimes. It’s not just something we make up when we’re nine. I have to believe that. You do too.” The fan added side-by-side images of both stars’ proposals, captioned, “16 years later,” a moment Gomez proudly highlighted.

Taylor Swift’s Fairytale Proposal

Swift announced her engagement to Kelce on August 26 with an Instagram carousel showing the Kansas City Chiefs star down on one knee surrounded by flowers. The Grammy winner captioned the post, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” while showing off her sparkling diamond ring.

The proposal was witnessed by both families, who were overjoyed to see the couple take this next step.

The engagement follows a milestone of Gomez’s own. Last December, Swift left a playful comment under Gomez’s Instagram post announcing her engagement to producer Benny Blanco, teasing, “Yes, I will be the flower girl.”
