Meyers shares his three children with his wife of over 12 years, Alexi Ashe, a human rights attorney.

He met Ashe at the wedding of friend and former “Saturday Night Live” co-star, Chris Kattan.

Meyers and Ashe got engaged in July 2013, shortly after it was announced that Meyers would replace Jimmy Fallon as the host of “Late Night.” They got married married in an intimate ceremony two months later.

Although Meyers has been entertaining audiences for years as a comedian, he admitted that Ashe is the one who keeps him laughing.

“My wife is sillier than I am, so that makes me laugh a great deal. I make her laugh, too,” Meyers told YourTango in July 2020. “But I also make her not laugh, and that’s when I know it’s time to retire something.”

The host opened the segment by talking to his children about the Christmas card photos they took prior to their appearance and what themed costumes they wore for the occasion.

When Meyers asked his children how they’d arrived at the studio, his sons confidently answered “car,” while his daughter insisted they had taken the “subway.”

Though this answer took him by surprise, he asked if she enjoyed the ride. When Adelaide replied, “the subway smelled like diarrhea,” the entire audience erupted into a fit of laughter.

Meyers asked his sons to tell everyone where they went the weekend before, and they excitedly spoke about their family trip to Pittsburgh where they watched the Steelers win. After their recap of some more hilarious sibling antics from the vacation, Meyers asked his daughter which of her brothers were sweetest to her.

Adelaide declared that Ashe was her favorite brother, as he is the “sweet” one and Axel is the “rough” one. After her dad asked if she still loved her brothers, Adelaide answered, “I love this one, but not that one,” she said, while hugging Ashe.

At the end of their adorable segment, Meyers asked his kids if they had anything else to promote, to which they replied, “Thanksgiving.” The holiday excited them because it meant “no school for a week!”
