Simon Cowell’s partner Lauren Silverman has seemingly confirmed they’ve tied the knot four years after he proposed.
The Pop Idol, X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent creator, 66, started dating Lauren, 49, in 2013, first being linked when she separated from her former husband Andrew Silverman.
The couple’s son Eric was born in February 2014, and, in January 2022, it was announced that Simon had proposed to his partner a few weeks earlier.
Although they’ve largely remained tight-lipped on any wedding plans in the years since, it now appears they quietly got hitched.
Lauren, who is the mother of Simon’s only child, has deleted her old Instagram account and created a new one which shows she has taken his surname.
The new account LaurenMichelleCowell is private but has the bio ‘Mom to Adam and Eric 🩷’ and is followed by her good friend Lauren Sanchez.
As reported by Hello!, pictures of Lauren posted nine days ago show her just wearing her engagement ring, rather than a wedding band too. However, her account now shows she has no active photos.
In 2021 Simon got down on one knee while on holiday in Barbados, also popping the question in front of their son Eric, 11, and Lauren’s son Adam, 19.
Despite once insisting he ‘didn’t believe’ in marriage – he eventually changed his mind after meeting Lauren.
A source told The Sun at the time that she was ‘absolutely stunned and never in a million years expected Simon to pop the question’.
‘She burst into tears – happy tears – and obviously said yes straight away,’ they added.
‘Lauren has been Simon’s rock over these past few years – supporting him when he broke his back, and through thick and thin generally. They make a wonderful couple.
‘Whilst Simon never thought he was the marrying type, he’s realised he’s met the woman of his dreams – and couldn’t be happier. In the words of Beyoncé, it was time to put a ring on it.’
The couple’s relationship initially caused a scandal after it emerged that they’d met while she was still married to her millionaire property developer Andrew.
Soon after their affair became public, it was also announced they were expecting a child.
In 2015, Simon the Daily Mail: ‘I’m not proud of the circumstances, I can’t hold my head up about it.’
But speaking about finding out he was set to become a dad, he shared: ‘This was not something I planned. But I remember going to the first scan with Lauren.
‘I called him Tad because he looked like a tadpole. Something just kicked in. I felt unbelievably protective of both of them. I just absolutely wanted him. I just hadn’t known that before.’
In 2008, he’d told The Mirror that he’d had no plans to get married over concerns about his estimated £300million fortune.
‘I don’t believe in marriage, certainly not in this business. The truth is that you get married and in a year or two they clean you out! It’s just not going to work,’ he said.
Simon was previously in relationships with Sinitta, Jackie St. Clair and Terri Seymour.
