Skins fans ‘sobbing’ as original cast members reunite after 17 years

Skins fans have been left in tears after the show’s original cast members reunited more than a decade after their last episode together.

The teen drama, which first hit screens in 2007, became a cultural phenomenon for its depiction of sex, drug use and eating disorders.

Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars today made their acting debuts as part of the show’s ‘first generation’.

This included Nicholas Hoult as Tony, Moblands star Kaya Scodelario as Effy, Daniel Kaluuya as Jal, Dev Patel as Anwar and Game of Thrones’ Joe Dempsie as Chris.

Now, however, fans have been sent into a meltdown after some of the stars from season one reunited at a wedding.

Posting a series of images and clips on Instagram, Kaya shared pictures of herself with Nicholas, Daniel and Joe.

Captioning the image, she said: ‘The way I used to pray for brothers growing up – knowing I have you all now is everything.’

Responding to her posts, @Emilyy_mee said on X: ‘Skins reunion healing my inner 14 yr old rn 😭.’

@wildestdreamxx also wrote: ‘I miss them so much,’ while @blossmng777
said: ‘Crying.’

@lunasol909 added: ‘Stop this makes me emotional.’

Meanwhile, @DeborahMoraiss said: ‘OMG!!!! 😭 forever one of my all time favorite shows!! 💘💘💘’

Elsewhere in the comments section, @HereforVK18 highlighted how ‘this cast produced so many powerhouses’.

Finally, @lizzydee wrote: ‘This fills me with so much joy!!!’

The last episode that featured the original cast members was in April 2008 with the tenth and final episode of season two, called ‘Final Goodbyes’.

This comes after another Skins star reunited with cast members 12 years after his final episode.

Ollie Barbieri, 33, played Jonah Jeremiah Jones – aka JJ – in series 3 and 4 of the raucous teenage drama.

JJ bowed out in 2010, while the show lasted three more series before coming to an end with series 7 in 2013.

He was seen posing in a photo alongside his fellow co-stars Kaya and Klariza Clayton as they wished Kathryn and Megan Prescott a happy birthday, who played twins on the series.

Last year, it was also revealed that Kaya split from her actor husband Benjamin Walker after an eight-year marriage.
