You might recognise him as the brooding teenager in the new John Lewis Christmas advert – but he’s also in a new Netflix show that’s climbing the charts.
In the ad, which has divided viewers, Jack Alldridge plays a son who presents his Dad with a vinyl of one of his favourite tracks from back in the day.
The touching short film sees the Dad transported back to his party days, before reflecting on the passing of time. It ends with the father and son embracing in their lounge as a slowed-down version of Alison Limerick’s Where Love Lies, covered by Labrinth, plays in the background.
Jack’s leading role has thrust him into the limelight and even resulted in an appearance on This Morning with Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.

But this isn’t his only big project to date.
The young actor also features in Death By Lightning, a new Netflix show about the American president James A Garfield, whose life was cut short by a disgruntled office worker called Charles Guiteau.
It’s currently ranked at number eight in Netflix’s top 10 series in the UK today, ahead of Nobody Wants This and The Bad Guys: Breaking In.
The period drama was released on November 6 and stars Matthew Macfadyen as Guiteau, and Michael Shannon as the nineteenth-century president, James A Garfield.
The creator and writer of Death by Lightning, Mike Makowsky, based the series on the book Destiny of the Republic by Candice Millard, explaining to Netflix’s Tudum that Millard ‘made a really, really potent case that this man would have been one of our great presidents’.

In an Instagram post, he said: ‘This little Maidstone boy made it to the White House!
‘Don’t think I could feel more grateful that I get to call this the first project I’ve worked on. Out now on Netflix.’
Death by Lightning has scored at 91% on Rotten Tomatoes’ Popcornmeter, and received high praise from viewers.
Marie S on Google reviews said: ‘The acting is phenomenal. I was truly moved in more ways than one. A must see.’
Henry Rubin was also a fan, writing: ‘A wonderful evocation – acting, screenplay and production – of a president, largely forgotten.’
Gini Kast similarly gave it five stars. She said: ‘This is a fascinating four-part series on the presidency of James Garfield.
‘All actors are spot on.’
