Stars Pay Tribute to Julian McMahon After He Loses Cancer Battle

Hollywood is in mourning as it says goodbye to beloved actor Julian McMahon.

Stars poured out their grief on social media, sharing heartfelt tributes to the late actor, many of them coming from co-stars who worked with him on some of his biggest hits.

McMahon succumbed to cancer on July 2, following years of quietly battling the disease. His wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement to Deadline. The actor was just 56 years old at the time of his passing.

Among those honoring McMahon’s legacy were his former “Charmed” co-stars. The actor played Cole Turner in a total of 47 episodes from 2000 to 2005.

Actor Brian Krause, 56, shared a photo of McMahon on his Instagram, remembering their time together on the series.

“Sad day for our ‘Charmed’ family!” Krause wrote. “Julian was one of the funniest, devilishly handsome, and kindest souls! Prayers to his family and close friends! He will surely be missed!”

Rose McGowan, 51, shared an illustrated artwork of the actor on her Instagram Stories.

“Oh Julian, you force of brilliance, wild talent, and humor,” she captioned the post. “For you, your family, and loving fans all over the world, I pray comfort.”

Alyssa Milano, who portrayed McMahon’s love interest Phoebe Halliwell, said she’s “heartbroken” over the actor’s untimely passing.

She wrote in part, “Julian McMahon was magic. That smile. That laugh. That talent. That presence. He walked into a room and lit it up—not just with charisma, but with kindness. With mischief. With soulful understanding.”

Holly Marie Combs, 51, remembered McMahon through a montage of their moments together on and off the camera.

“One of a kind is an understatement. Your unyielding zest for life and crazy making sense of humor will be sorely missed,” the actress wrote on Instagram. “The joy and laughter you were the direct cause of will always be remembered. I hope you find our lady friend and dance in those rose petals.”


More Tributes Pour In

Meanwhile, McMahon’s “Fantastic Four” co-star, Ioan Gruffudd, also shared a heartwarming tribute for the actor.

“This is terribly sad news about Julian,” he captioned the post. “Even though we played each other’s nemeses, there was always so much lightness and laughter working together. Every encounter with him was a joy. It was an honor to be Dr. Richards to his Dr. Doom. My heart goes out to his wife and family. God speed Julian.”

McMahon’s “Nip/Tuck” co-star, Kelly Carlson, took to her Instagram and shared an emotional video reacting to the sad news.

“Oh my gosh, I’m completely shocked and saddened by it,” Carlson said. “I didn’t know he wasn’t well for a while.”

Most recently, McMahon worked with Nicolas Cage in “The Surfer.” Cage, 61, paid tribute to the actor in a statement shared with Deadline.

“Such deeply saddening news. I spent six weeks working with Julian, and he was the most talented of actors,” Cage added. “Our scenes together on ‘The Surfer’ were amongst my favorites I have ever participated in, and Julian is one of my favorite people. He was a kind and intelligent man. My love to his family.”
