Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn has teased he could return for the show’s final season despite his character being killed off.

First premiering in 2016, the science fiction horror drama set in the 1980s follows the residents of the fictional small town of Hawkins, Indiana, as they are plagued by a hostile alternate dimension known as the Upside Down.

It stars Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Sadie Sink as Will, Elle, Dustin, Lucas and Max.

Filming is currently underway on the fifth and final season, with fans speculating how things might wrap up after Vecna declared war.

Viewers have also expressed a desire to see Joseph’s character Eddie Munson back on board after his death in heartbreaking scenes in season 4 after he was attacked by demobats trying to protect Dustin.

Despite this untimely end, Joseph said the ‘chances are high’ he could be spending some time with his former castmates.

‘I love those guys! I’d love to say hello,’ he said, seemingly teasing a possible involvement with the last season of the hit show.

Although, he did keep his responses vague too.

‘I’m sure they’re working very hard to land the plane,’ he said when speaking to Entertainment Tonight about the conclusion of Stranger Things.

‘It’s been a long time that they’ve been working on that, so I’m really delighted that they’re kind of getting towards the end, and they’re having a nice time.’

He added: ‘I’m sure they’re gonna deliver it in a pretty epic way. I have no doubts.’

When questioned further about his potential return, Joseph didn’t give much away.

‘I might have that feeling too. Or maybe I don’t. I don’t know! Who knows?’ he laughed.

His comments come after fans were sent wild earlier this year after a photo seemingly confirmed the fate of another character.

In season 4 finale, Max ended up in a coma after having her bones broken by Vecna, which resulted in her dying in Lucas’ arms before she was rushed to hospital.

Although there was some speculation she may have died, a cast photo posted by the show’s official account confirming production had begun on season 5 in January showed actress Sadie there.

However, there was no sign of Joseph in the snap.

Stranger Things is streaming on Netflix.
