The first trailer for the fifth and final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things has finally landed – and fans already have ‘full body chills’.
After an over three-year wait to see our first proper look at the epic finale of Netflix’s biggest sci-fi fantasy series, Stranger Things (co-created by The Duffer Brothers) fans have finally been fed.
The trailer two-and-a-half-minute trailer, opens on Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) who is tinkering with a device, before ominously proclaiming ‘burn commencing in five, four, three, two, and…’
Meanwhile, the camera flicks to all our major players, including Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Winona Ryder as Joyce, Maya Hawke as Robin and Natalie Dyer as Nancy all in a room together with grim expressions on their face.
We also catch a glimpse of Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas and Sadie Sink as the ill-fated Max, who is still in a coma after the events of last season.

In the official synopsis shared by Netflix, it reads: ‘The journey ahead looks bigger and more complicated than anything our favourite nerds have ever faced.
‘Military personnel have taken over Hawkins, Indiana, and the Demogorgons look as fearsome as ever, but at least the gang has one another. And that’s going to be key as they take on whatever Vecna has brewing for them in the final chapter of the beloved series.
‘Picking up in the fall of 1987, Stranger Things 5 finds the town scarred by the opening of the rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: to find and kill Vecna.’
With the town now under military quarantine and the hunt for Eleven growing more intense by the day, our teen heroes are against the clock as they gear up to battle something ‘more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before’.

Discussing season five a few years ago, the Duffer brothers – Matt and Ross – shared that they had created a 25 page mythology document at the start of season one that will come into play now.
‘The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in Season 5, and that’s really going to affect what Season 5 is about,’ Ross said at the time.
Stranger Things season five volume one lands on Netflix on November 26. Volume two arrives on Christmas day and the final episode airs on New Year’s Eve.
