Strictly Come Dancing could face further scandal amid a report claiming a video exists of a former married contestant kissing a female dance professional.

The BBC One ballroom dancing show has been rocked by scandal in recent years, with claims of behind-the-scenes bullying as well as that a celebrity did drugs while on the show.

A TV insider has now claimed that there is a 12-second video, secretly recorded at Elstree Studios, which could ‘rock the very foundations’ of the hit show.

The video was reportedly taken in a dressing room by a member of the production team and is said to show a male celebrity from a previous series of the show kissing a female professional dancer sat on his knee.

A TV source told The Sun the video has been shared on WhatsApp, telling the publication: ‘This incident has been the talk of Strictly in very need-to-know for the past couple of years.

‘The kiss only lasts a few seconds but it would more than likely end his marriage and destroy his carefully cultivated family man image.

‘It has been shared around on WhatsApp though as everyone is slightly sickened by this pair’s duplicitousness especially as they always knocked down scurrilous romance rumours.’

It remains unclear who the alleged man and woman referred to in the report are.

While dancing is the main attraction on Strictly, viewers are often just as interested in what’s happening behind the scenes.

Over the past 22 series Strictly has been on the air, speculation has swirled about potential blossoming romances between celebrity contestants and professional dancers – a phenomenon known as the ‘Strictly curse’.

The curse, as it is known, refers to individuals taking part in Strictly who are already in relationships and who end up finding romance with fellow participants – with past contestants including Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell as well as Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton.

The report comes hot on the heels of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman’s shock announcement that they will be leaving the show at the end of this season.

The long-running BBC One hosts made the announcement last month. Daly has presented since the first series 21 years ago, while Winkleman joined in 2014.

Metro contacted the BBC for comment.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One.
