Strictly Come Dancing star Amber Davies shared an emotional message after struggling with fan rage following the latest dance-off.
The Love Island star and pro-partner Nikita Kuzmin swooped into the semi-final after beating show favourites Lewis Cope and dance pro Katya Jones at the nail-biting dance-off this weekend.
Their elimination was met with an outcry from fans, however, who were rooting for the losing couple to win, including angry messages sent to semi-finalist Amber.
Discussing the onslaught of outrage from viewers on It Takes Two with Janette Manrara on Wednesday night, Amber said: ‘I would like to think I have thick skin, but obviously the start of the week has been tougher than usual.

‘I would just like to remind everybody that I was never supposed to be here. I was a quick replacement. I’m just doing my best.’
She has been looking at the silver lining, however, adding: ‘The love is actually more overpowering than the hate, so if you’ve sent a message or a kind comment our way, then we really do appreciate it so much.’
The dance-off was also tough for Amber and Nikita, despite winning, given how close the pair are to the ousted duo.
In an Instagram caption after the initial show on Sunday, Amber said: ‘I will always be your number one fan Lewis Cope.
‘To go up against one of the greatest dancers Strictly has ever seen was simply terrifying, however, I was actually dancing against my best friend in this competition, and that broke my heart,’ she wrote.
The media personality, who has previously appeared on the West End in shows like Legally Blonde, has been navigating online backlash throughout her time on the show.
After a series of perfect 40 scores, she addressed fans once more, who were accusing her of ‘essentially doing her day job’.
Reiterating, once more, that she ‘wasn’t supposed to be in the comp’ and that it was just a TV show, she said: ‘You have no idea what we put our mind and body through for this experience..
‘I’m really just trying my best with the opportunity that came to me. To anyone who has left a NICE comment thank you. Xx.’
In the semi-final, Amber is joined by Balvinder Sopal, George Clarke and Karen Carney.
EastEnders star Bal has had a tough time of her own on the show, making history as the star to survive the most dance-offs.
After describing being a quarter-finalist as ‘impossible’, she said about getting this far: ‘ ‘Double impossible! Like, who wrote this story? It’s incredible how it’s just turned around.
‘I sit here every week and I’m just lost for words because I don’t know how we keep doing it. But here we are!’
It Takes Two airs at 6:30pm on BBC Two.
